Pasadena Community: We are saddened to share the passing of another wonderful longtime Pasadena community member.
Bobbie Zamminer, former Executive Director of Community Pregnancy Center went to be with the Lord this past saturday.
Bobbie was more than a leader—she was a faithful servant, a champion for life, and a friend to so many. Her heart for women, babies, and families shaped this ministry in lasting and profound ways. Under her leadership, countless lives were touched, and the foundation was laid for the work we are blessed to continue today.
Please join us in lifting up Bobbie’s husband, Ron, and their loved ones in prayer during this difficult time. Our hearts weren’t ready to say goodbye, but we find comfort in knowing that Bobbie is now in the presence of Jesus—completely healed and fully at peace.
A Celebration of Life Service for Bobbie will be held at her home church:
The River 970 Dell Dale St, Channelview, TX 77530 Saturday, August 9th Visitation at 10:00 AM | Service at 11:00 AM

A certification ceremony — cohosted by the Texas Music Office, Pasadena Economic Development Corporation and Visit Pasadena — will be held during Pasadena’s annual 4th Fest celebration at Pasadena Convention Center and Municipal Fairgrounds. Learn more: bit.ly/4kfSMnK
Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the City of Pasadena is now a Music Friendly Texas Certified Community, a designation awarded by the Texas Music Office (TMO). This recognition highlights Pasadena’s commitment to fostering music-related economic growth and job creation through the TMO’s statewide program—the first of its kind in the nation.
Governor Abbott praised Pasadena’s achievement, noting that Texas’s music industry supports 196,000 jobs and generates over $31 billion in annual economic activity. Senator Carol Alvarado and Mayor Jeff Wagner both celebrated the city’s rich musical legacy—from Mickey Gilley’s honky-tonk roots and the Pasadena Philharmonic to Tejano legends like La Fiebre.
Local leaders, including Councilwoman Pat Van Houte and representatives from the Pasadena Livestock Show & Rodeo and the Strawberry Festival, echoed pride in the city’s musical diversity and heritage. They emphasized how the designation strengthens local culture, tourism, and economic opportunity while inspiring future generations of artists.
The official certification ceremony will take place during Pasadena’s annual 4th Fest celebration, cohosted by the TMO, Pasadena Economic Development Corporation, and Visit Pasadena. TMO’s Gini Mascorro will present the honor, marking a milestone in Pasadena’s ongoing musical journey.
