The 7th annual Voices of the Past at Crown Hill Cemetery is bringing history to life looking for volunteer help.
Sharing for our friends at Historic Crown Hill Cemetery:
This year the Crown Hill Cemetery Association is celebrating its Veterans history as the focus of its ever growing popular festival and 7th annual Voices of the Past 2024.
This family fun event is done to pull the community together and learn a little bit about the residents in Crown Hill Cemetery and the foundation of the City’s beginning. This intimate event also comes with plenty of general comradery over sausage on a stick among your neighbors near, far, and deep rooted Pasadenian’s are often walking around sharing their stories.
As every year in order to pull off VOTP the event survives by asking our giving community for big favors keeping it fun in the front and party in the back. Ultimately striving for not only the overall success of VOTP but forever seeding the youth to want to volunteer and maintain the cemetery’s heritage.
So looky here friends. To this year’s venue we’ve added a spot for artistic volunteers to sing at VOTP in the genres of swing and boogie-woogie. If you can help us save the day please reach out to Sarah for the details at [email protected] or our contact page https://crownhillcemetery.org/contact/
Also, if you’re not a singer and would be a better volunteer in other areas of the event please reach out. We need you!

The Chamber remembering Mrs. Judith Miles. A legacy of faith, service, and community impact.
Chamber Family,
We are saddened to share the loss of Mrs. Judith Miles. Judy and her husband, Robert founded Miles A/C Service and have been chamber members and community partners for more than 30 years. Her children Mike Miles and Alicia Phelps have followed their parents model of faith and community service through active leadership roles and servant hearts. We are so grateful for the Miles and Phelps family and share in celebrating the life of Mrs. Miles and her generational impact to Pasadena and beyond.

The Chamber’s Vice President, Erin, celebrated her five year anniversary at the Chamber. Congratulations!
Join us in wishing our Chamber Vice President, Erin Webb, a HAPPY FIVE YEAR WORKIVERSARY!!!
Erin has been instrumental in implementing and expanding our Chamber and its programs in these last five years. As the Marketing Director, she increased the chamber’s social media presence and pioneered videography in our chamber with the Discover Pasadena TX Show highlighting the positive stories of Pasadena. During the pandemic, Erin promoted resources to our businesses through the Pasadena Loves Local initiatives and expanded the program to include the Business, Retention, and Expansion facet. In 2021, Erin was promoted to our Vice President as she continued to successfully execute growth in membership, event sponsorship, and our website by creating various hubs of resources for our community like the Workforce Center, Government Relations Page, Small Business Resource Page, and Natural Disaster Resource Page.
Erin also supports our Workforce Development and NonProfit Network Committees.
As a Galveston’s Top 40 under 40 award recipient and IMPACT Graduate, Erin is so much more than a successful business woman. As a mom of 2, Erin is an inspiring, loyal, loving, and determined friend.
We are truly so blessed to have you apart of this organization and can’t wait to see the continued success you bring to this community ❤

Chamber highlights from their connection building board retreat.
We are so blessed with an amazing Board of Directors who give their time and talent to our organization. Last Friday, January 19th, we held our annual Board Retreat at the brand new PISD Admin Building (Wow, it’s beautiful!!!)
At this retreat, we learned how to build connections as a team with the help from our friends at Station Theater! Then, throughout the day, we were led by a variety of our board members and staff on our mission, values, purpose and pillars, marketing, advocacy, board governance and parliamentary procedure, 2023 wins, government relations and a lot more! We brainstormed, stepped in make believe elevators, performed skits, there was never a dull moment throughout the day!
This fun group shared a lot of laughs throughout the day and we are in great hands for 2024! We are #PasadenaProud
*Thank you Danny Schnautz for helping me take such wonderful pictures and videos throughout the day!

Honoring Our Heroes: Join Crown Hill Cemetery for Wreaths Across America this Saturday.
Friendly reminder of Wreaths Across America event hosted by Crown Hill Cemetery this Saturday, December 16 @ 12pm https://crownhillcemetery.org/event/wreaths-across-america/
The Chamber’s Annual Gala, honoring community leaders and celebrating success in Pasadena.
On December 7th, we hosted our Annual Gala: Business is Roaring in Pasadena, at Fountainblu Event Centers
This year, we were excited to honor all the great work that has been done. We started off the night by announcing our 2023 Citizen of the Year, Roy D. Mease. This award is always a complete surprise to the recipient, and we enjoy surprising them by inviting their family and dear friends to be a part of the celebration.
This special night also allows us the opportunity to honor our Board of Directors, and all the work they do for us over their terms. We were able to hear remarks from our outgoing chairman, Dr. Allatia Harris of San Jacinto College, as well as our incoming chairman, Kicker Cardenas of Kicker Insures Me Agency.
Another huge part of the program is celebrating the graduating class of IMPACT Pasadena. As of today, we have over 55 local leaders who have graduated from this program. We are excited to see all the amazing things they accomplish, and are ready to meet the next cohort, which we will begin accepting applications this coming summer.
We want to sincerely thank all of our members for their continued investment into the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce. Because of your partnership, we are able to continue the good work we do each year, and help make Pasadena the greatest city on earth!
Roy D. Mease named Pasadena’s Citizen of the Year 2023. Congratulations!
🏆Roy D. Mease named 2023 Pasadena Citizen of the Year!!

giving of his time and support to many non-profit organizations. He was elected to Pasadena City Council where he served for eight
years and appointed as Port Commissioner of the Port Houston
for the last ten years. He has also served as a former Chairman
of Pasadena Second Century Corporation (now known as the

Rodeo where he has served as Past President and director for more
than forty years.

College students who needed a boost pursuing their educational
endeavors. Beyond Roy’s volunteer service he has made significant
contributions to the Rodeo, San Jacinto Foundation, Rotary Club

We love serving you each and every day to help make Pasadena the greatest, and most successful, city on earth!
♥ From Governor Greg Abbott: “Each year, a week in October is set aside to acknowledge the achievements of local chambers of commerce and to celebrate the critical role they play in our state. By providing robust support to their communities, chambers of commerce aid Texans as they strive to secure the blessings of liberty. At this time, I encourage all Texans to join me in commending these organizations that work to build a better future for all Texans.”
