BARNYARD BINGO CANCELLED**

Please be advised that due to the recent disaster that has impacted not only our hometown but the surrounding communities, we have made the decision to cancel BARNYARD Bingo tomorrow, July 11th. As saddened as we are to announce this, we are even more heartbroken for our families, friends and neighbors that are still struggling in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl. Please know that each of you are in our thoughts and prayers.

If you have purchased a table, you will be refunded. Unfortunately, at this time we will not be able to reschedule this event. However, if that changes, we will let everyone know the new date. As always, thank you for supporting the Pasadena Livestock Show & Rodeo.

The Slags are an exciting and versatile cover band from Houston, Texas that formed in 2002. The Slags remain one of Houston’s popular cover bands. The foresight of the Slags is to allow the audience to listen to a wide variety of music while being entertained. Their set list covers everything from today’s hits to classics from the past, playing in venues that stretch from the Downtown Aquarium to Moody Gardens, and everything in between! GREAT NEWS, we will be running our PLS&R Cornhole tournament through the Scoreholio app. If you plan on playing in the tournament, please download the app and pre-register. Only 1 registration per team is needed. If you need a partner, there’s a good chance we can match you with one the day of.

We will have 2 separate tournaments going at one time, BACKYARD and COMPETITIVE. So get your partner lined up and join us Saturday, June 1st for a good time.

A little under a month away and the bowling tournament is already full! We are accepting teams to be placed on a waitlist as one or two lanes may open up. Also bowlers, you are welcome to show the day of, sometimes teams need to pickup a person come tournament time.

VOLUNTEERS WANTED: LIVESTOCK AUCTION COMMITTEE

Are you looking for a rewarding opportunity to volunteer your time at? If so, look no further; the PLS&R Livestock Auction Committee might be the place for you!

Every year, the Livestock Auction Committee is tasked with hosting the Pasadena Livestock Show & Rodeo Livestock Auction. This committee is involved in every aspect of the auction: greeters, registration, buyer escorts, food server and kitchen staff, waiters and waitresses, buyer buckles & gifts, photo area, and buyer processing. This is a fast-paced committee, but very rewarding.

The Livestock Auction Committee meets once a month at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the plans for the upcoming auction that will be held on Thursday, September 26th. This committee will ask that you be available Wednesday, September 25th, at 9 a.m. for the auction set-up and then again on September 26th (AUCTION DAY), starting at 5:30 a.m. for a full day of auction activities, from the Breakfast of Champions to the cleanup of the convention center once the auction is completed.

If this sounds like a committee you would like to volunteer with, we hope that you can join us for our next committee meeting on April 17th at 6:30 p.m. in the Directors Room at the Pasadena Rodeo grounds.

Let’s take advantage of the warmer months arriving and start planning for ALL the outdoor activities. Starting with our 2nd annual PLS&R Sporting Clay Event that will be held April 6th at the American Shooting Centers in Houston. This is a family-oriented event where gun safety and fun are both KEY!

If you don’t have a shotgun appropriate for the sport, don’t worry. The range has loaner shotguns on a limited, first-come, first-serve basis.

We wanted to share a quick update on our 2024 Pasadena Rodeo Event schedule. The Kickoff Dance will now be held on August 24th at the Convention Center. A great decision was made by our board and will allow us even more space to dance the night away.
We will announce as soon as tickets go on sale.

We are so excited to announce our 75th anniversary Pasadena Livestock Show & Rodeo theme, “HONORING COWBOY HERITAGE FOR 75 YEARS.”.
We would like to thank one of our past president, Jack Whitman, for his entry. However, with Jack Whitman being a past president, he does not need access to the president’s suite. We have decided to have a drawing for all the people who provided a theme.
Just as a reminder, the winner will be awarded two Presidential Suite tickets to the performance of their choice.

What a lot of people do not realize, is the year-round grind it takes to put on a 9 day Rodeo. You may be asking yourself the question, “How does Pasadena do it?”. In addition to over 1,200 volunteers that make our rodeo successful, we have the one and only, SHERRY FREE!! She is our secret weapon behind the doors that ensures the daily operations of our rodeo are running smoothly. Along with our administrative assistant, Stephanie Jones, these two ladies make it happen.
Sherry Free is not only our Executive Director but is also serving as the 2024 State Association of Young Farmers of Texas Board President and recently voted in as the Treasurer for the Texas Association of Fairs & Events.

Pasadena Rodeo would like to invite all interested 8th-12th graders to join us on Feb. 13th for our Junior Rodeo Committee (JRC) KICKOFF meeting.
Invite your friends and come join us as we provide information on the JRC and answer any questions you and your parents might have.
