At a luncheon, the Pasadena Lions Club celebrated and thanked all contributors to the inspiring Walk For Sight event, making vision a priority.
👏Today the Pasadena Lions Club, and the PISD P. E./Health and Wellness team, had a luncheon to thank everyone who was involved in their annual Walk For Sight Event (held at Burke Crenshaw Park) that helps raise money to provide free eye exams and glasses to all students in PISD! 🤓
The City of Pasadena Parks and Recreation crews were thanked for their assistance with location and parks staff. Anthony Torres attended as a representative for the Parks team.
Our Parks Crews helped prep the park for the event by mowing and picking up trash, set up and took down tables/chairs, and helped keep the park looking good on event day! Shoutout to our parks crews for all they do, day in and day out, to keep our parks clean and maintained👏 for the citizens of Pasadena!!

🎾JAG Group – The Junior Advancement Group (JAG) is designed for players ages 11 years and up that are new to tennis. The focus will be on learning the proper technique while learning how to play the game of tennis. Players will learn the rules of the game, score keeping, and how to sustain a rally.

Our Recreation Centers for Youth provide children with an enjoyable and secure setting in which to learn, participate, explore games, sports, technology, culinary activities, arts and crafts, and more. Our Landscape Division provides various City Properties with services such as: Leisure Beautification, Plant Care Design, Tree Care (reforestation), Irrigation Design and Hydraulics, Pest Control Management (BPM), and industrial/light commercial renovation projects. The Landscape Division works closely with the Director of Parks & Rec to organize and facilitate special inner mural projects around the city. The Landscape Division has a variety of landscape architects that we work with as well as some of our well known affiliates such as: the Pasadena Economic Development Corporation, TxDot, and the Chamber of Commerce.

🌳Moving forward…please do not use black trash bags for larger tree limbs, branches or shrubbery, this prevents debris removal contractors from identifying debris.
🍃However, smaller debris such as leaves or small twigs may be bagged and placed with your residential trash. Please place larger items in a separate pile on its own.
🆘When placing your trash and storm debris at the curb please separate your waste into the following 3 piles:
1. Tree limbs, branches and other shrubbery
2. Heavy trash
3. Regular trash and/or recycling

It’s National Parks and Recreation Month and the Clean Streets Division works miracles around the city.
The Clean Streets Division of the Pasadena Parks and Recreation Department consists of 17 🌟𝙅𝙪𝙡𝙮 𝙞𝙨 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙝! ➡️➡️First up….our 𝘾𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙨 𝘿𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣!
This Division is run by 17 employees who work tirelessly to help beautify the City of Pasadena!🚧 They work on City jobs ranging from tree trimming, grass cutting (ditches, alleyways, city lots), litter/debris removal, and graffiti removal!
They also assist other City Departments with their special events such as:
💜Table/chair set-up at the Convention Center
💚Collecting/Sorting/Delivering for the Pasadena Food Drive, Fill The Bus School Supply Drive, and Christmas Toy Distributions
❤️Creating and Setting up Christmas Lighted Scenes along Fairmont (from Preston to Space Center)
💙 …and they help other City Departments with moving heavy furniture.
🛠Additionally, they work with court ordered defendants to assist them in completing their community service hours! Clean Streets employees do A LOT for the City, making it all happen like miracle workers, so let’s give them a round of applause in the comments!!! 👏
