PPD’s K9 Pack was a fearless and dedicated officer who served Pasadena with unwavering courage.

K9 Pack served as an active police canine with the Pasadena Police Department for 9 years until his retirement in May 2022. Following retirement, he continued to live with his handler, Officer C. Turpin. On December 24, 2023, K9 Pack passed away, and we reflect on the remarkable contributions and courage he displayed throughout his distinguished career.

Beyond aiding in numerous arrests, seizures, and suspect apprehensions within Pasadena, Pack extended his assistance to several surrounding Police Departments.
Pack performed his duties without fear or question of his own safety and kept citizens and Officers safe on numerous occasions. One particularly memorable incident that emphasized Pack’s exceptional skills and bravery was when, without hesitation, he apprehended an armed suspect who had pointed a firearm at multiple individuals.

We express our gratitude for K9 Pack’s tenacious commitment, and his absence will be felt by many who admire and respect his dedication to the Pasadena Police Department.
