Precinct 8’s Deputy A. Peters traffic stop yields two 🤡 captures, drug seizure and one of them had a warrant for showing his get along.

On Monday, December 4, 2023 at approximately 3:22 PM, Precinct 8 Deputy A. Peters with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired registration in the 9300 block of the Gulf Freeway. Upon contact with the vehicle, Deputy Peters detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The driver was identified as 20 year old Nasja Raheem Douglas and the passenger was identified as 26 year old Antione Leedell Thomas. Deputy Peters conducted a probable cause based search of the vehicle and located two handguns, 5.3 grams of methamphetamine and 3.9 grams of crack cocaine. A check of the handguns serial numbers revealed one was reported stolen through New Orleans Police Department.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted Unlawful Carry of a Weapon and two felony charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance on Douglas. His bonds were set at a total of $12,600. A check of Thomas’s information revealed an open warrant for Indecent Exposure through Harris County Sheriff’s Office. Both subjects were transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center.
