On Sunday, October 29, 2023 at approximately 10:27 AM, Precinct 8 Deputy Brinkley with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office initiated a traffic stop for failing to stop at designated point in the 1000 block of Edgebrook Dr. The driver was identified as 38 year old Israel Pompa Vences. While speaking with Pompa, Deputy Brinkley observed a white powdery substance on his nostrils. Deputy Brinkley conducted a search of the vehicle and located .85 grams of powder cocaine.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted felony charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Pompa was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where his bond was set at $2,000.
