Precinct 8’s Deputy Camarillo stopped a 🤡 in a prohibited vehicle that didn’t pass the smell test.

PROHIBITED VEHICLE LEADS TO NARCOTICS ARREST
On Thursday, January 25, 2024, Precinct 8 Deputy Camarillo with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office received an alert of a prohibited vehicle while patrolling the 5900 block of the E Sam Houston Pkwy S. Deputy Camarillo located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop near the Gulf Freeway Exit ramp.
Upon contact with the vehicle, Deputy Camarillo detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The driver was identified as 22 year old Ygnacio Chavez. Deputy Camarillo conducted a probable cause based search of the vehicle and located a handgun, 233 grams of marijuana, 4.4 grams of powder cocaine, 7.8 grams of Xanax and drug paraphernalia.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted felony charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Marijuana and Unlawful Carry of Weapon. Chavez was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where his bonds were set at a total of $11,100.
