AGGRAVATED ROBBERY SUSPECT LEADS DEPUTY ON FOOT PURSUIT
On September 29, 2023 at approximately 10:42 PM, Precinct 8 Deputy Morgan along with K9 partner “Duke” with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office were patrolling the 8900 block of Clearwood Rd when he heard multiple gun shots and observed a black Chevrolet pickup traveling at a high rate of speed.
Deputy Morgan turned around to catch up to the vehicle and observed the suspect vehicle crashed into a fence and unoccupied. Deputy Morgan located the suspect near the crash and gave chase on foot. The suspect was apprehended and identified as 18 year old Nathan Justin Magana. Through further investigation, it was revealed Magana and a second subject robbed the owner of the vehicle at gun point and fled in the stolen vehicle. Deputies conducted a search of the stolen vehicle and located two handguns and shell casings.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted felony charges for Aggravated Robbery with Deadly Weapon and Evading Arrest/Detention. Magana was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where his bonds were set at $75,100 total.
