A huge CONGRATS to all of our AP students that made a qualifying score of 3 or higher on an Advanced Placement exam last school year. For each test passed the student earned $100 thanks to our PISD Board of Trustees approving a student incentive plan to encourage students to take AP courses and the exam. At the CTHS, freshman and sophomore computer maintenance students have been learning how to replace RAM and hard drives. This hands-on learning experience allows students to gain practical skills in computer hardware. They are taught the proper procedure for safely opening the computer casing, identifying the RAM slots and hard drive connections, and removing and replacing the components. This knowledge is crucial in troubleshooting and upgrading computers. The students are given real-life scenarios to solve, enabling them to develop problem-solving skills. Overall, this practical training equips the students with valuable abilities in computer maintenance and repair.
