Dobie culinary students showed up to the Strawberry Festival and helped build the world’s largest strawberry shortcake.

Culinary students from J. Frank Dobie High School participated in The Pasadena Strawberry Festival and helped build the world’s largest strawberry shortcake. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the event

and it’s all for a good cause with proceeds going towards scholarships.

South Houston Trojan, Keven, is a trailblazer in the Process Technology Dual Credit Program. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Keven Medel from South Houston High School for completing the first half (23 hours) of the Process Technology Dual Credit program at San Jacinto College that was sponsored by Shell. Keven will complete the program after he graduates. As a reward for their hard work, students that earned this scholarship receive a computer as an end of the year gift.

Retiree’s were invited to join us for our monthly Gulf Coast CTE meeting that was hosted by Deer Park ISD CTE (the food was AMAZING). Maverick’s archery team zeroed ia at NASP Nationals clinching 6th place in 3-D and 11th in bullseye. Congratulations!

The Pasadena Memorial High School Archery team attended the NASP Nationals in Sandy, Utah. They ended up placing 6th in 3-D and 11th in Bullseye! Awesome work by coach Mills and Aubin in getting the students this far.

CERT Field Training Exercises: CTE Criminal Justice Students Tackle Emergency Response with Impressive Proficiency.

They also got to use the new mannequins, inflatable people, and backboards that were purchased with a Pasadena ISD Education Foundation grant the department earned with the Health Science pathways. Seniors helped with the debrief after the event as well.

The Chamber is having a job fair next week at the Convention Center Wednesday April 26th and general public starts at 4:30pm.

The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce is hosting a job fair next week at the Pasadena Convention Center. It is open to high school students only from 3:00 – 4:30 PM and the general public beginning at 4:30.

Mario, a 2016 graduate from CTHS is now a business owner who went back to CTHS for a pep talk.

Meet Mario Mendez, he is a Pasadena Independent School District 2016 graduate from CTHS Pasadena ISD. He and his twin brother named Christian, both were in CTE courses (HVAC & Electrical) and each are now business owners in their respective fields. This week, Mario took time out of his busy schedule to stop by and visit with his former teacher’s current students. He spoke with them about taking advantage of the opportunities in front of them and gave examples of how much the same classes they are taking helped him get where his now. We are beyond proud of Mario and Christian and it is truly amazing and rewarding to have our former students come back as business partners.

Rayburn’s Business Professionals of America students took a field trip to the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Expo.

BPA (Business Professionals of America) students from Sam Rayburn High School joined their principal, Mrs. Reyes, on Friday when they attended Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Expo. There were roughly 2,000 people in attendance made up of entrepreneurs, executives, elected and appointed officials, young professionals, and job seekers.
