Recently, Mrs. Guel utilized it during the revision phase of a writing assignment on the impact of social media. Students entered their drafts into MagicStudent to receive valuable feedback. They even asked questions based on the feedback to pinpoint areas for growth! 📚💬

They received real time hands on learning that is the representation of our Mission statement of “unique educational experiences.” From studying customs on the ship to touring the bridge, our students were able to participate in behind the scenes tours on the Carnival Breeze.

CTHS had 25 students, (22 pieces) compete on Saturday at Visual Arts Scholastic Event (UIL Art Regionals) at Dobie High School. We had an AMAZING SHOWING for CTHS. 19 received the highest rating of 4 and earned Regional medals! We had FIVE STUDENTS, 6 artworks, qualify for State Competition in San Marcos in April. Congratulations to Abraham Guillen, Caleb Meyer, Jennifer Torres (2), Yuliana Sandoval and Kamryn Sandoval.

National Honor Society and Student Council teamed up to support the Houston Food Bank. Giving back to the community is part of the core principles of both organizations.

The CTHS Audio/Visual students volunteered their time today at The Reserve Pasadena Assisted Living. They captured valentines portraits for their staff and residents.
Congratulations to #theCTHS students that participated in the Space Settlement and Design competition at NASA this weekend. Bruce Nguyen, Emiliano Castillo, Lana Fontenot, Audrey Rosales, Alberto Urquiza, Kiera Jnlouis, Caleb Meyer, and Lenneth Cruz worked for 36 hours to design a space station on Mars. The competition is high-intensity and simulates an engineering industry environment. The students collaborated with students from across Texas and US and finished their designs overnight Saturday with the help of some NASA mentors and engineers, and presented to a panel of judges on Sunday morning.
Caleb and Lenneth were on the winning team. Students not only learn about engineering and technical skills, but how to work with a team, communicate effectively, be a strong leader, and other life and soft skills, critical to success after high school. Congratulations to all the participants!

17 of the 21 archers scored personal bests in the state qualifying tournament.

Senior level Pre-Engineering students are constructing green energy homes. They must plan, build and justify their green energy home by presenting to their classmates.

CTHS Culinary Arts junior, Arantxa Barrientos, is preparing for a cake competition. She baked and created this lovely wedding cake to prepare for competition.
On Saturday, January 4, Calvin Flowers and Adrian Acosta competed in the Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo New Year’s Archery Shootout. These gentlemen gave up part of their vacation for this competition and did an amazing job!
Calvin came in 3rd in the Male division.
