Twenty three year old father, Whitaker found not guilty of murder in death of 6 week old son.

A 23-year-old father has been acquitted of murder charges in the case of his 6-week-old son’s death in November 2020. Xavier Darren Whitaker faced charges in 2022, two years after the tragic incident, following an investigation by the Pasadena Police Department. Court documents revealed that Whitaker was looking after his son, Xavier Darren Whitaker, Jr., while the baby’s mother was asleep. The infant was hospitalized on November 11, 2020, and succumbed to his injuries nine days later. An autopsy concluded that the child died from blunt force trauma, and the death was ruled a homicide.

We’re frustrated with the overgrown post office on Spencer.

Neighbors in Pasadena are frustrated with the post office’s appearance, as overgrown grass and a damaged building make it an eyesore. Following a tornado a year and a half ago, the post office was closed, leading to inconsistent hours and mail delivery issues. The city cannot enforce maintenance on federal property, but USPS plans to address the landscaping soon and reopen the facility by early next year. Residents hope to see improvements to the building and grounds to restore the area’s appearance and safety.
