Mrs. Longstreet’s business students at South Houston High School sent out a total of 60 formal business letters. Through this process, they learned how to format these letters correctly and address envelopes. The students conducted research on the companies they were contacting to find a name from the marketing department, identify a physical address for mailing, and ultimately affix their very first stamp on an envelope!
Yenny was the first student to receive a response to her business letter! A big thank you to @oreo for their reply. Yenny was thrilled to share the festive cookies with her class!

Parents, we need your help. We are seeing a lot of students being dropped off late to school, causing them to miss important instruction. If you drop your student off, please make sure you are getting here early enough to give them time to get to class by the 7:15 tardy bell. If they are more than 10 minutes late to class they will be marked absent. If this happens more than 10% of the time (~8 days) your student will start accruing make up time, and could be denied credit for the class, putting them off track for graduation. Doors open for students at 6:45, giving them plenty of time to eat breakfast and get to class on time. Remember, all PISD students get free breakfast and lunch this year. On September 4, 2024, this suspect stole Kindle tablets at Best Buy by concealing them under his shirt and exiting the store. He has a beard and mustache, tattoos on his arm, and was wearing a plaid shirt and dark-colored pants and shoes.

Start gathering all of your unused or expired medications for our next “Medication Take Back” event in partnership with The Alliance.
On Saturday, October 26th from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM, you can drop off medication at our Clear Lake station and we will safely dispose of it. Help keep medications out of the hands of those who shouldn’t have them and help us make this event a success.

CYCLE Houston is a non-profit organization that provides bicycles to students for academic achievement. The Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy kicked off their year with the 1 Million Book Give Away service project! They hosted pep rally, including a mascot dance off, at Pearl Hall Elementary. Over 400 books were handed out to their students today!

Early voting begins October 21st and lasts through November 1st. Early voting hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. from October 21-26, 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on October 27, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. from October 28-30, 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on October 31 and 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on November 1.
There are three early voting centers located in Pasadena:
– BakerRipley Pasadena Campus (720 Fairmont Parkway)
– East Harris County Activity Center (7340 Spencer Highway)
– John Phelps Courthouse (101 South Richey Street)
