PROHIBITED VEHICLE LEADS DEPUTY ON PURSUIT
On March 30, 2024, Precinct 8 Deputy Camarillo with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office received an alert of a prohibited vehicle while patrolling the 2800 block of the E Sam Houston Pkwy. Deputy Camarillo located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle accelerated to a high rate of speed while disregarding multiple traffic lights and stop signs. The pursuit continued for approximately 26 miles before the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed at the intersection of Strawberry Rd and Vista Rd. The driver was taken into custody and identified as 25 year old Paul Trevino Martinez.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted a felony charge for Evading Arrest/Detention with Vehicle. Martinez was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where his bond was set at $10,000.
