Precinct 8 traffic stop leads to the arrest of a 🤡 with drugs, weapon, and cash seized.

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST

On September 16, 2023 at approximately 3:55 PM, Precinct 8 Deputy A. Peters with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the 12300 block of Galveston Rd for multiple traffic infractions. Upon contact with the driver, Deputy Peters detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle and observed marijuana in plain view. The driver was identified as 20 year old Alejandro Zamora.

Deputy Peters proceeded to conduct a probable cause based search of the vehicle and located a handgun and 21 grams of marijuana. A further search of the vehicle yielded an additional 48 grams of “Blunt pre-roll” marijuana and $2,500 in U.S. currency. Constable Precinct 2 Deputy Parker and his K-9 partner arrived to assist in the investigation and positively alerted on the contraband.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted charges for Unlawful Carry of Weapon. Zamora was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where his bond was set at $100. The Asset Forfeiture division was contacted and accepted the seizure of the U.S. currency.
