Precinct 8’s Deputy Duran got into a tense situation with 29 year old 🤡 Ryan Lee Burns.

BARRICADED SUBJECT ARRESTED

On Friday, February 9, 2024 at approximately 8:30 PM, Precinct 8 Deputy Duran with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office was dispatched to a disturbance at an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Bay Area Blvd. Precinct 8 Deputies arrived on scene and made contact with the victim. Further investigation revealed during a verbal altercation, the suspect took the phone away from the victim as she attempted to dial 911. The suspect, identified as 29 year old Ryan Lee Burns, then barricaded himself inside the apartment with the victim’s child.

Members of the Precinct 8 Crisis Negotiation Team were called out to the scene and attempted to negotiate with Burns. After all means of communication were exhausted, deputies made entry into the residence and apprehended Burns. The child was recovered unharmed.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted Interference with Emergency Request for Assistance. Burns was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where his bond was set at $100.
