TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO NARCOTICS ARREST
On January 10, 2024, Precinct 8 Deputy K. Peters with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for multiple traffic infractions in the 11600 block of the E Sam Houston Pkwy S.
While speaking with the driver, Deputy Peters detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The driver was identified as 26 year old Ruben Berumen Jr. Deputy Peters conducted a probable cause based search of the vehicle and located 2.19 lbs. of marijuana, multiple THC cartridges, edibles and drug paraphernalia.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted felony charges for Possession of Marijuana. Berumen was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing where his bond was set at $150.
