On September 6, 2026, at approximately 01:30 PM, Deputy S. Margison and Sergeant A. Peters were dispatched to a business in the 19400 block of the Gulf Freeway regarding a theft in progress. The responding units were advised that a male suspect had reportedly concealed merchandise in his clothing.

As deputies arrived on scene, the suspect passed all points of sale and left the store with the concealed merchandise. Sergeant Peters located the suspect in the parking lot and detained him without incident.

During the investigation, deputies recovered the stolen merchandise from the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Ernesto Alonso Castro, and determined it was worth approximately $120.00.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the Theft charge against Castro. Deputy Margison placed Castro in custody and transported him to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where he was booked without incident. Bond was set at $100.
