There will be a total weekend closure on the East Sam Houston Tollway from Pine Street to SH 225 beginning Friday, Oct. 30 at 10 p.m. through Monday, Nov. 2 at 5 a.m.

• The northbound Red Bluff entrance ramp will also be closed.

• The northbound Spencer entrance ramp will also be closed.

• The northbound Fairmont entrance ramp will also be closed.

•Traffic will be detoured and exit at the Pasadena Blvd/Red Bluff
Exit Ramp.

•Traffic will proceed on the northbound frontage road to SH 225

• Crews will be performing scheduled maintenance on the roadway.

🎃 Big truck, Halloween fun, and friendly faces! Deputies Vargas and Spray joined the Bay Forest Halloween festivities with our Precinct 8 high-water truck, enjoyed spending time with neighbors and families, and gave everyone a closer look at one of the vehicles we use to serve our community. Harris County Precinct 8 Toll Road units responded to a commercial truck fire in the 4700 block of the southbound E Sam Houston Tollway S.
Initial reports indicated that a commercial truck towing a roll-off trailer experienced a tire blowout, followed by its brakes locking and its fuel tank rupturing. The truck became disabled in a moving lane of traffic. A wheel caught fire, and the flames spread, engulfing the truck.
Pasadena Fire Department, Houston Fire Department, and HAZMAT International responded to extinguish the fire and mitigate the fuel spill. Two occupants were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. One was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Precinct 8 Toll Road units coordinated with HCTRA Public Safety units to manage traffic, with minimal traffic impact reported.
Apple Heavy Duty recovered the truck and removed it from the roadway. HCTRA Maintenance assisted with fire debris cleanup and was notified of burn damage to the roadway decking and right barrier wall. Harris County Pollution Control and the Pasadena Fire Marshal’s Office also assisted in the coordinated response.
We appreciate all responding personnel and agencies for their coordinated efforts to care for the occupants, address the fire and fuel spill, and safely clear the roadway.

This afternoon, Constable Sandlin hosted a formal Swearing-in and Service/Merit Award Ceremony at our Clear Lake station. Deputy Randy Rangel was sworn-in as the newest Precinct 8 Deputy at the onset of the ceremony.

Earlier today, Deputies with Precinct 8 partnered with Officers from the Houston Police Department in a coordinated effort to address ongoing concerns related to transient activity, criminal trespassing, and prohibited camping along the El Dorado Boulevard corridor in the Clear Lake area. The joint operation was conducted in response to an increase in complaints and observed activity in the area, particularly involving individuals occupying private property and locations where camping is prohibited. Deputies and Officers conducted proactive patrols throughout the corridor, contacted numerous individuals, and worked to identify areas that have generated recurring concerns from nearby businesses, property owners, and members of the community.
During the operation, numerous individuals were identified and issued Criminal Trespass Warnings for various properties. Individuals contacted during the operation were advised of the warnings and informed that returning to those properties without authorization could result in enforcement action. Information on available resources in the region for homeless individuals was offered as well to those who wanted it.
This operation provided law enforcement personnel an opportunity to identify locations experiencing repeated issues and coordinate future enforcement efforts between the two agencies. The Harris County Precinct 8 Constable’s Office remains committed to working alongside our law enforcement partners to address community concerns, protect private property, and help maintain safe and accessible public and commercial areas throughout the Clear Lake community. Precinct 8 will continue to monitor this area, as well as other areas throughout the precinct, and will work collaboratively with the Houston Police Department and other community partners to address recurring issues as they arise.

On September 11, 2026, at approximately 09:22
PM, Deputy C. Crider conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 11200 block of the Gulf Freeway for an observed traffic violation.
After making contact with the driver, later identified as 44-year-old Steven Diaz, Deputy Crider conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle, which resulted in the discovery of a 9mm handgun. A records check revealed that Diaz had a prior felony conviction, which prohibited him from possessing a firearm. Diaz was subsequently placed into custody and charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Following his transport to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, detention staff conducted a thorough search of Diaz and located approximately 0.4 grams of methamphetamine concealed inside his sock.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted again and accepted an additional charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1.
Diaz was booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center without further incident. The total bond was set at $9000.

On September 15, 2026, at approximately 2:42 a.m., Precinct 8 Deputy J. Gibson and D. Webber attempted to stop a Chevrolet Camaro after observing it traveling at a dangerously high rate of speed on the Gulf Freeway.
The driver refused to stop and led deputies on an approximately 15-mile pursuit, reaching speeds exceeding 130 mph, weaving through traffic and committing multiple traffic violations. Several neighboring law enforcement agencies joined the coordinated response.
The pursuit ended near Kirby Road and Red Bluff Road when the Camaro crashed through a secured chain-link fence. The driver and passenger fled on foot into a heavily wooded area.
Deputy J. Gibson quickly apprehended the passenger, identified as 22-year-old Alfonso Hitson of Georgia. With assistance from a Webster Police Department K-9 team and the Houston Police Department’s FOX helicopter, deputies located the driver, identified as 24-year-old Corrie Cortez Barron, also of Georgia, hiding in nearby bushes and took him into custody without further incident. During the investigation, deputies recovered a loaded handgun in the vehicle.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the felony charge of Evading Arrest/Detention in a Motor Vehicle against Barron with a $35,000 bond, and Evading Arrest/Detention on Foot against Hitson with a $100 bond.
Precinct 8 thanks the Webster Police Department, Jerry Garcia, Harris County Constable Precinct 2, Seabrook Police Department – Texas, and the Houston Police Department’s FOX Unit for their assistance in bringing this dangerous incident to a safe conclusion.

Another successful assist, and more illegal drugs taken off our streets. Great work by Duke in helping keep our community safe—one sniff at a time!
On September 11, 2026, at approximately 04:17 AM, K9 Deputy K. Peters conducted a traffic stop on a gray Honda CR-V in the 20760 block of the Gulf Fwy for speeding.
Deputy Peters made contact with the driver, identified as 33-year-old Jose Caceres- Martinez. During the stop, K9 Duke was deployed and positively alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Deputy Peters conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and recovered approximately 4.5 grams of crack cocaine.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group One, against Caceres-Martinez. It was later discovered that Caceres-Martinez had an active warrant with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The warrant was confirmed, and Caceres-Martinez was placed in custody on his new charge and his active warrant. He was transported and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center. Bond was set at $15,000.

On September 11, 2026, at approximately 12:00 AM, K9 Deputy K. Peters conducted a traffic stop in the 14798 block of the Gulf Fwy on a gray Chevrolet 2500 for speeding.
Deputy Peters made contact with the driver, identified as 21-year-old Axel Herrera-Herrera. During the contact, Deputy Peters requested and was granted consent to search Herrera’s person and recovered approximately 1.2 grams of crack cocaine.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group One, against Herrera. He was transported and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center without incident. Bond was set at $5000.

On September 9, 2026, at approximately 11:20 AM, units were dispatched to a business in the 3500 block of Clear Lake City Blvd regarding a female who had stolen items from the store the previous day and had returned to shop. Deputy H. Tamez and Deputy B. Muschweck observed the female, later identified as 20-year-old Wrinden Wilson, pay for small items at the self-checkout register and exit, passing the remaining points of sale.

Deputies detained the female and discovered $140 in additional items concealed in Wilson’s bag that she had not paid for. Deputies spoke with management, who positively identified Wilson as the suspect in the previous day’s theft, which resulted in $400 in items being taken from the store.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted two theft charges against Wilson. She was transported and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center without incident. Bond was set at $100.

On September 6, 2026, at approximately 01:30 PM, Deputy S. Margison and Sergeant A. Peters were dispatched to a business in the 19400 block of the Gulf Freeway regarding a theft in progress. The responding units were advised that a male suspect had reportedly concealed merchandise in his clothing.

As deputies arrived on scene, the suspect passed all points of sale and left the store with the concealed merchandise. Sergeant Peters located the suspect in the parking lot and detained him without incident.

During the investigation, deputies recovered the stolen merchandise from the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Ernesto Alonso Castro, and determined it was worth approximately $120.00.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the Theft charge against Castro. Deputy Margison placed Castro in custody and transported him to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where he was booked without incident. Bond was set at $100.

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO FELONY ARREST AND DRUG CHARGE

On September 7, 2026, at approximately 1:59 AM, K9 Deputy K. Peters conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan Altima for speeding in the 11699 block of the Gulf Freeway.

The driver, identified as 40-year-old Faith Walker, was found to have an active felony warrant through the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. After the warrant was confirmed, the suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center.

During the booking process, detention personnel discovered a small bag containing a pressed methamphetamine tablet concealed in the Walker’s clothing. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1.

Walker was booked on the confirmed felony warrant and the new controlled-substance charge. Bond was set at $10,000.

On September 6, 2026, at approximately 07:00 PM, Deputy C. Crider was dispatched to the area of Hughes Road in response to reports that a vehicle was being operated in a hazardous manner and was traveling with a damaged tire, causing it to continue along the exposed rim.
Deputy Crider located the vehicle as it entered a parking lot in the 11700 block of Hughes Road and made contact with the driver, identified as 43-year-old Daniel Rodriguez, and observed multiple signs of intoxication. After completing the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, it was determined that Rodriquez could not safely operate a motor vehicle. Further investigation revealed that Rodriguez had two prior convictions for Driving While Intoxicated, elevating the current offense to a felony.
Rodriguez was taken into custody and charged with Felony Driving While Intoxicated. He was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where he was booked without incident. Rodriguez’s bond is set at $25,000.

MOTORCYCLE PURSUIT ENDS IN ARREST

On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at approximately 4:00 PM, Deputy C. Crider attempted to stop a motorcycle for a traffic violation near the Gulf Freeway. The driver, 34-year-old Leocez Dimaculangan of California, initially appeared to comply before fleeing northbound on the service road.

The pursuit continued on to Winkler Drive and into a residential neighborhood, where the driver lost control and crashed into a lawn. He then attempted to evade on foot but was quickly apprehended and taken into custody.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted the felony charge of Evading Arrest/Detention in a Motor Vehicle. Dimaculangan was transported and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center. No bond has been set at this time.

🐾DUKE DOES IT AGAIN!🐾
Another shift, another successful find for K9 Duke!
On August 21, 2026, at approximately 01:00 AM, K9 Deputy K. Peters conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of College Ave. on a Honda Civic for multiple violations.
Deputy Peters made contact with the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, who was identified as 45-year-old Margarita Balli-Olvera. During the stop, K9 Duke was deployed for an open-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics. Deputy Peters conducted a probable-cause search of the vehicle and recovered crack cocaine.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1 against Balli-Olvera. Deputy Peters took her into custody and transported her to the Joint Processing Center for booking. No bond has been set at this time.

DEPUTY ARRESTS REPEAT DWI OFFENDER AFTER WITNESSING CRASH

On August 15, at approximately 6:20 PM, Deputy E. Conrad was monitoring traffic in the 14300 block of the East Freeway, where construction had reduced traffic to one lane.

Deputy Conrad observed several motorists using the improved shoulder to pass other vehicles. When the lead vehicle stopped on the shoulder, it was struck from behind by a black Ford Expedition. The Expedition then drove over the curb and entered the service road.

Deputy Conrad caught up to the Expedition and conducted a traffic stop. Upon making contact with the driver, identified as 40-year-old Gilberto Cantu, Deputy Conrad observed multiple signs of intoxication. After completing the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, it was determined that Cantu was unable to safely operate a motor vehicle. A search of the Expedition also revealed multiple open containers of alcoholic beverages.

A criminal-history check showed that Cantu had a prior DWI conviction. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted a charge of Driving While Intoxicated—Second Offense.

Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the other vehicle involved in the initial collision. Cantu was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center for booking. Bond was set at $100.

Construction zones require every driver’s full attention and patience. Never use the shoulder to bypass traffic and never drive while impaired. A few moments of impatience can have life-changing consequences.

STREET CRIMES UNIT LOCATES WANTED INDIVIDUAL
On August 17, 2026, deputies with our Street Crimes Unit received information regarding an individual wanted on an active bond-revocation warrant out of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office related to an Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle case.
Deputies located 30-year-old Isaac Edward Corbett-Medellin and safely took him into custody without incident. Corbett-Medellin was booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center.

TRESPASSING SUSPECT ARRESTED INSIDE VACANT APARTMENT

On August 13, 2026, Deputies Rabago and Crider responded to a vacant apartment in the 16000 block of El Camino Real regarding a reported trespasser.

Deputies observed the suspect, identified as 41-year-old Nichole Michelle Adams, lying inside a closet. Although she acknowledged the deputies’ presence, she ignored repeated commands to unlock the door and exit the apartment. Because the interior deadbolt prevented entry, apartment maintenance personnel assisted deputies in accessing the unit.

Once inside, deputies located Adams still hiding in the closet. She continued to refuse repeated lawful commands to exit and cooperate with the investigation before ultimately being taken into custody.

Adams was taken into custody and charged with Criminal Trespass of a Habitation and Interference with Public Duties. Bond was set at $100.

On August 13, 2026, Deputy Crider responded to a reported shoplifting incident at a business in the 19400 block of the Gulf Freeway.

Deputy Crider located the suspect nearby and recovered merchandise valued at approximately $230. Further investigation revealed the suspect, identified as 43-year-old Kevin Hunsucker, had two or more previous theft convictions.

Hunsucker was taken into custody and charged with Felony Theft with Two or More Previous Convictions and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center without incident.

🚨 DWI ARREST FOLLOWING MULTI-VEHICLE CRASH 🚨
On August 12, 2026, at approximately 8:54 PM, Harris County Precinct 8 deputies responded to a citizen’s report of a suspected intoxicated driver traveling northbound on the East Sam Houston Tollway.
While searching the area, Sergeant Self located a two-vehicle crash involving a Chevrolet pickup truck in the 1500 block of East Sam Houston Tollway N. The driver of the pickup displayed multiple signs of intoxication and was detained while Deputy Spray conducted a DWI investigation.
As deputies secured the roadway and attended to those involved, an inattentive motorist entered the active scene and struck one of the disabled vehicles. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. EMS evaluated the occupants of the involved vehicles, who were released at the scene.
Following the investigation, the pickup driver, identified as 21-year-old Erick Joaquin Olea Adame, was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated with a Blood Alcohol Concentration of 0.15 or greater. Adame was booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where his bond was set at $100.
This incident is an important reminder that roadway scenes can remain extremely dangerous even after the initial crash. When approaching emergency lights or first responders working in or near the roadway:
🔹 Stay alert and put away distractions.
🔹 Move over one lane when it is safe to do so.
🔹 If you cannot safely move over, slow down to 20 mph below the posted speed limit.
🔹 Follow all directions from first responders.
Texas law requires motorists to move over or slow down when approaching qualifying vehicles stopped with activated lights. Your attention could save the life of a first responder, crash victim or fellow motorist.
Slow down. Move over. Stay focused. Help us keep everyone safe.

On July 31, 2026, at approximately 09:09 AM, Deputy A. Camarillo conducted a traffic stop off of Spencer Hwy on a gray BMW for expired registration.

During the traffic stop, Deputy Camarillo identified the driver and sole occupant as 57-year-old Federico Molina. After obtaining consent, Deputy Camarillo searched Molina’s person and the vehicle. The search recovered approximately 1.91 grams of crack cocaine. A records check of Molina’s information revealed an outstanding felony warrant from Uvalde County for Smuggling of persons. The warrant was subsequently confirmed.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1. Molina was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked without incident. Bond was set at $10,000 for the new charge.

This morning, members of Harris County Constable Precinct 8 had the pleasure of participating in the Madison Jobe Senior Expo at the Pasadena Convention Center.

The expo brought together community organizations, businesses, service providers, and fellow local public-safety agencies to connect area seniors with valuable information and resources.

Our team enjoyed visiting with attendees, answering questions, and sharing public safety and crime prevention information to help our senior community stay informed and protected. It was also great connecting with our local agency partners!

ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL ALERT BY PRECINCT 8 K9 DUKE LEADS TO DRUG SEIZURE
On August 8, 2026, at approximately 1:26 AM, K9 Deputy K. Peters conducted a traffic stop in the 10500 block of the Gulf Fwy on a Honda for multiple violations.
During the stop, K9 Duke was deployed for an open-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics. Deputy Peters conducted a probable-cause search of the vehicle and recovered a significant amount of suspected illegal drugs.
The driver, identified as 44-year-old Derek Duane Hale, was charged with three counts of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, PG1. Hale was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where he was booked without incident. Hale’s bonds were set at a total of $1.2 million.

DISTURBANCE CALL LEADS TO ARREST FOR CRIMINAL TRESPASS

On August 5, 2026, at approximately 11:11 a.m., Deputy C. McLain responded to a business in the 560 block of El Dorado Boulevard regarding a disturbance involving a male who was reportedly refusing to leave the premises.

The investigation determined the male, identified as 19-year-old Elijah Salazar, had entered the business and attempted to use its amenities but was denied access. After being asked to leave, he allegedly became belligerent, entered the women’s restroom, and remained inside while consuming an alcoholic beverage.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the charge of Criminal Trespass. The male was taken into custody and transported to the Clear Lake Annex for processing. While in the holding area, he damaged county property. The incident was documented for further investigation.

Salazar was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked without further incident. Bond was set at $100.

On August 2, 2026, at approximately 11:30 PM, K9 Deputy K. Peters conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle in the 13500 block of Galveston Road.
The motorcycle was impounded after the investigation revealed the driver had a suspended license and no valid proof of financial responsibility. During an inventory, Deputy Peters located methamphetamine inside a storage compartment.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted the charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, against the driver, identified as 49-year-old Robert Ross Miller II.
Miller was transported and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center without incident. Bond was set at $30,000.

On Sunday, August 2, 2026, at approximately 6:45 a.m., a deputy with the Harris County Precinct 8 Constable’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the 5500 block of SH 225 in Deer Park after observing a vehicle with defective stop lamps.

During the investigation, the driver, 28-year-old Ebony Louise Emanuel, was identified as having an active warrant issued by the U.S. Marshals Service in connection with a human trafficking-related smuggling case. Emanuel was also found to have outstanding warrants through Harris County Precinct 5.

She was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center.

This arrest highlights the importance of proactive patrol and routine traffic enforcement in identifying wanted individuals and supporting public safety.

On August 2, 2026, Precinct 8 Deputy A. Ramirez assisted with an investigation involving a truck that had been reported stolen. After checking several locations where the vehicle was believed to be, deputies later located the stolen truck in Pasadena. Working alongside the Pasadena Police Department, deputies conducted a high-risk traffic stop and safely detained the two occupants.
The driver, 40-year-old Jonathan Bryant, was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle after the Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted the charge. The passenger, 36-year-old Jose Luis Guevara Jr., was found to have multiple outstanding warrants, including a Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles warrant and a Harris County Sheriff’s Office felony warrant.
Both individuals were transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked without incident. Bryant’s bond was set at $35,000.

On July 31, 2026, at approximately 04:11 AM, Deputy D. Webber conducted a traffic stop on a blue Dodge in the 9300 block of the Gulf Fwy for multiple violations. Deputy Webber made contact with the driver and sole occupant, identified as 67-year-old Joel Lorenza White Jr.

During the stop, Deputy Peters arrived on scene and deployed K-9 Duke to conduct an open-air sniff of the vehicle. After a positive alert to the presence of narcotics, deputies conducted a probable-cause search and recovered crack cocaine.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1 on White. He was taken into custody and transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where he was booked without incident. Bond was set at $8,500.

On July 30, 2026, at approximately 11:28 PM, K9 Deputy K. Peters conducted a traffic stop at the 11200 block of the Gulf Fwy on a white Cadillac for speeding. During the stop, K9 Duke was deployed and positively alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Deputy Peters conducted a probable-cause search of the vehicle and recovered methamphetamine. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1 on the rear passenger, identified as 33-year-old Justin Benjamin Depusoir. Depusoir was placed in custody and transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where he was booked without incident. Bond was set at $2500.

On July 28, 2026, deputies with the Harris County Precinct 8 Constable’s Office responded to a reported theft at a business in the 18600 block of Eastfield Drive. Upon arrival, Deputy O. Cartlidge learned that the suspect had fled the area before but was located at a nearby gas station shortly thereafter. When deputies attempted to detain him, the suspect repeatedly refused lawful commands and fled on foot. A department-issued Taser was deployed, allowing deputies to safely take the suspect into custody without further incident. The suspect was identified as 49-year-old Eric Eugene Reed of Houston. Due to a prior conviction for evading arrest, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted an enhanced charge of Felony Evading Arrest/Detention with a Previous Conviction, in addition to charges related to the theft investigation. Reed was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked without further incident. Bond was set at $200.

On July 18, 2026, at approximately 04:02 AM, K9 Deputy K. Peters conducted a traffic stop in the 1199 block of Edgebrook Dr. on a maroon Ford Expedition for multiple violations. Deputy Peters made contact with the driver and sole occupant, who was identified as 56-year-old Craig Allen Pittman. During the contact, Deputy Peters requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle and located an empty plastic bag containing a white crystal-like residue near the passenger seat. Based on this discovery, Pittman was detained, and Deputy Peters deployed K-9 Duke to conduct an open-air sniff of the vehicle. After a positive alert to the presence of narcotics, Deputy Peters performed a probable-cause search and recovered a black backpack that contained approximately 4.2 grams of methamphetamine. Additionally, Deputy Peters located drug paraphernalia commonly used for narcotics distribution.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the charge of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1. A criminal history check revealed that Pittman had previously been arrested on two separate occasions for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1. Pittman was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where he was booked without incident. Bond was set at $50,000.

On July 19, 2026, at approximately 3:45 AM, deputies with the Precinct 8 Toll Road division arrested a 38-year-old male identified as Jesse Nava following a pursuit involving a suspected intoxicated driver.
Deputies responded to reports of a blue Chrysler 300 driving erratically southbound on the E Sam Houston Twy. When deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver fled at speeds exceeding 100 mph, creating a significant danger to everyone traveling on the tollway.
During the pursuit, Nava struck a concrete barrier, causing the vehicle to lose a wheel. Despite the extensive damage, Nava continued fleeing until the vehicle became disabled on the S Sam Houston Twy near the Cullen Boulevard overpass.
After the vehicle came to a stop, Nava refused lawful commands to exit. Deputies safely took Nava into custody after deploying a taser and overcoming his continued resistance.
The Harris County District Attorney was contacted and accepted charges for Driving While Intoxicated and Felony Evading Arrest/Detention Motor Vehicle. Nava was evaluated by the Houston Fire Department before being transported and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center. No bond has been set at this time.

On June 29, 2026, at approximately 3:13 AM, Precinct 8 K-9 Deputy K. Peters attempted to stop a Cadillac SUV in the 11200 block of the Gulf Freeway for multiple traffic violations and expired registration. The driver refused to stop, leading deputies on a pursuit that reached speeds exceeding 100 mph while disregarding multiple traffic signals.
With assistance from Harris County Constable Precinct 2, the vehicle was safely stopped, and the driver was taken into custody without incident.
K-9 Duke conducted a free-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the odor of narcotics. A subsequent probable cause search resulted in the discovery of two methamphetamine pipes and a digital scale commonly associated with narcotics use and distribution.
The driver refused to identify himself but was positively identified using a Mobile AFIS fingerprint scanner as 45-year-old Roderick Ward.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted a charge of Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle, and the suspect was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center for booking.

We’ve received several questions from our community about e-bikes and where they can be ridden. In Texas, most e-bikes are treated similarly to bicycles, which means riders have the same rights—and many of the same responsibilities.

✅ Yield to pedestrians and use extra caution in neighborhoods and near parks

BURGLARY SUSPECTS APPREHENDED-STOLEN PROPERTY RECOVERED
On June 15, 2026, Precinct 8 deputies responded to a burglary in progress at a private warehouse property in the 4000 block of Underwood Road after an employee observed suspicious activity through live security cameras.
Upon arrival, deputies located two suspects near a damaged section of fencing and recovered numerous stolen tools and equipment that had been removed from the property. A subsequent investigation led to the recovery of additional stolen items from a vehicle connected to the incident.
The recovered property, valued at more than $12,000, was positively identified by the business owner and returned.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the charge of Burglary of a Building against both suspects, identified as 35-year-old Ryan Evans and 48-year-old Jason Broussard. Evans received a $10,000 bond, while Broussard received a $15,000 bond.

STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED | FELONY CHARGES FILED

On June 10, 2026, Harris County Constable Precinct 8 Investigations was notified of a vehicle stolen from an automotive dealership located in the 12300 block of the Gulf Freeway.

Through investigative efforts, detectives located the stolen vehicle at an apartment complex in the 3500 block of Reeves Street in Houston. Investigators, along with Street Crimes Units and Patrol Units, responded to the location, established a perimeter, and conducted surveillance, leading to the identification and apprehension of the suspect, 42-year-old Deann Marie Rogers. The Street Crimes Units safely detained Rogers without incident.

The stolen vehicle was recovered and returned to its rightful owners.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted the following Felony charges:

• False Statement to Obtain Credit $30,000–$150,000
• Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information – Less Than 5 Items

Bonds were set at a total of $20,000.

NARCOTICS INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN MAJOR DRUG AND FIREARM SEIZURE
On June 18, 2026, Harris County Constable Precinct 8 Street Crimes Unit conducted surveillance operations at multiple locations and executed a search warrant on a residence in the 7200 block of Narcissus Street as part of a long-term criminal investigation.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Unit assisted in conducting a tactical operation at the location following the issuance of the search warrant.
One suspect, identified as 45-year-old Ricardo Pineda, was arrested and charged with Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance. During the operation, Pineda attempted to flee by climbing onto nearby rooftops but was quickly apprehended by law enforcement.
During the execution of the search warrant, investigators recovered a substantial quantity of suspected narcotics, including:
• 5,064 grams (5.064 kilograms) of methamphetamine
• 1,020 grams (1.02 kilograms) of cocaine
• 26 grams of Xanax
• 6 grams of Adderall
Investigators also recovered two firearms, including one reported stolen handgun.
This operation highlights the continued commitment of Harris County Constable Precinct 8 and our law enforcement partners to combat narcotics trafficking, remove illegal firearms from our communities, and enhance public safety throughout Harris County.

On Saturday, June 13, 2026, Deputy Melo was dispatched to the 2600 block of E. Sam Houston Pkwy S regarding a traffic hazard. The reported obstacle? A large tote is sitting in a moving lane of traffic.

Upon arrival, Deputy Melo safely removed the tote from the roadway and quickly realized it was much heavier than it looked. Curious about its contents, he opened the container and discovered something that would make any collector’s heart skip a beat—multiple packages of Pokémon cards!

Knowing someone was likely frantically searching for their missing treasure, Deputy Melo began the search for the owner. What followed was a true team effort. Sgt. Peters and our resident Pokémon expert, Deputy Crider, put their investigative skills to work. Their search led them to Cantu Collectables, a local card store hosting a card show in Webster that same day.

Deputy Crider contacted Mr. Cantu, who graciously made a public announcement at the event. Much like finding a rare holographic card, the effort paid off—the owner was found!

Sgt. Peters later met with Mr. Valles, who accurately described the contents of the tote and stated that the collection was valued at well over $600. Mr. Valles was deeply appreciative of the efforts to safeguard his collection and reunite him with his prized Pokémon cards.

While our deputies are always prepared to respond to emergencies, investigate crimes, and serve the community, the job sometimes includes helping a Pokémon trainer recover their lost inventory.

In this case, we can proudly say the mission was a success, and everyone involved helped “catch” a happy ending.

On June 11th, 2026, at approximately 3:40 PM, Deputy E. Melo concluded a traffic stop when an unrelated vehicle pulled up, and the driver informed him that the vehicle in front of her had pointed a firearm at her and her teenage daughter while in traffic. The victim, who had called the Pasadena Police Department, pointed out a black Kia traveling north in the 300 block of the E Sam Houston Pkwy S service road.
Deputy Melo, along with Pasadena Police units, conducted a high-risk stop of the suspect vehicle and safely detained the driver. The driver was identified as 40-year-old Cassandra Renee Zapata of Kemah, Texas. A firearm was also recovered from the center console of the vehicle.
A review of Zapata’s criminal history revealed multiple felony convictions for various offenses.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted, and the charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Felon in Possession of a Firearm were accepted. Zapata was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked in without further incident. Bonds were set at a total of $45,000.

On June 11th, 2026, at approximately 5:53 PM, K-9 Deputy A. Rabago conducted a traffic stop on a gray Dodge Charger near the 11100 block of the Gulf Freeway for a traffic violation. The Dodge Charger failed to yield to K-9 Deputy Rabago’s emergency lights and sirens, entering the Wal-Mart parking lot from Rowlett Rd. The vehicle then entered the local city streets and continued to evade. The vehicle was observed making circles in the same area of Almeda Genoa Rd and Clearwood Dr, attempting to lose pursuing Deputies. During this time, the Charger struck another vehicle. The vehicle entered a business parking lot near the 9500 block of Almeda Genoa Rd. As it sped through the parking lot, it entered a grassy field near the back of the business. The vehicle made a U-turn, nearly striking K-9 Deputy Rabago’s police vehicle head-on. The vehicle exited the field and attempted to exit the parking lot. Upon doing so, the vehicle collided with a ditch, disabling it. Both the driver and passenger exited the vehicle and evaded the scene.
K-9 Deputy Rabago and partner K-9 Max stopped the driver and waited for other units to arrive. Once other Deputies arrived on scene, the driver was safely detained and identified as a 16-year-old juvenile. Deputies from both the Harris County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office and the Harris County Precinct 8 Constable’s Office searched the area, using the Harris County Precinct 2’s drone unit and Harris County Precinct 8 K-9 Deputy J. Humphrey and his partner, K-9 Samus. Deputies quickly located the male passenger at a nearby convenience store and identified him as a 15-year-old juvenile.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted, and the charges for Evading in a Motor Vehicle were accepted against the 16-year-old juvenile and Evading on Foot against the 15-year-old passenger.

On June 10, 2026, at approximately 01:31 AM, Sergeant B. Covey conducted a traffic stop on a gray Honda Accord for a traffic violation in the 125 block of El Dorado. Sergeant Covey made contact with the driver, who was later positively identified as 33-year-old Taylor Morris. It was determined that Morris initially provided false identifying information.

While speaking with Morris, Sgt. Covey observed multiple signs of intoxication. After completing the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, it was determined that Morris was unable to operate a motor vehicle safely. An Intoxilyzer test was administered, and the results revealed that Morris’s breath alcohol concentration was twice the legal limit.

Further investigation revealed that Morris had multiple active warrants for his arrest.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted charges for Driving While Intoxicated, alcohol concentration greater than 0.15, and Failure to Identify Fugitive from Justice. Bonds were set at a total of $200.

On June 4, 2026, at approximately 11:20 PM, Deputy J. Bailey with Deputy H. Atluri initiated a traffic stop near East Sam Houston Pkwy N and Wallisville Road for a vehicle equipment violation. The vehicle was occupied by three individuals identified as 30-year-old Edgar Ortiz, 23-year-old Esmeralda Olivo, and 24-year-old Astrid Guerrero.
During the traffic stop, deputies observed suspected narcotics in plain view on the front seat passenger’s lap. All three occupants were detained while deputies conducted a probable-cause search of the vehicle, during which a bag containing more than one-half pound of crystal methamphetamine was found on the rear floorboard. Deputies also recovered several smaller bags containing suspected narcotics from the occupants. In addition, a .25-caliber handgun was recovered from Olivo’s person.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted the charges of Manufacture/Delivery against the driver, Edgar Ortiz; Possession of Controlled Substance PG1 and Unlawful Carry Weapon against the front passenger, Esmerelda Olivo; and Possession of Controlled Substance PG1 against the rear passenger, Astrid Guerrero. During the jail intake process, additional suspected narcotics were found concealed in one of Olivo’s bags.
Bonds were set at $30,000 for Ortiz, $8,000 for Olivo, and $20,000 for Guerrero.

On May 30, 2026, at approximately 01:05 AM, K-9 Deputy K. Peters conducted a traffic stop on a silver Acura in the 6678 block of the Gulf Freeway for multiple traffic violations. Deputy Peters made contact with the driver and sole occupant, identified as 48-year-old Jessica Bowlin. During the stop, K9 Duke was deployed and positively alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Deputy Peters conducted a probable-cause search of the vehicle and recovered approximately 14.7 grams of methamphetamine and approximately 0.7 grams of Xanax. Two unidentified blue pills were also recovered. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the felony charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, and Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 3. On May 20, 2026, at approximately 01:48 AM, Deputy H. Atluri conducted a traffic stop on a red Ram pickup in the 5900 block of E Sam Houston Pkwy S after observing multiple traffic violations. Deputy Atluri approached the driver, 61-year-old Christopher Charles King, and noticed signs of intoxication. Deputy Atluri administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and determined the driver was unable to operate a motor vehicle safely. A check of King’s criminal record revealed two prior DWI convictions. While conducting an inventory of the vehicle, Deputy Atluri located an open container of an alcoholic beverage. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the charge for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd. King was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center without incident.

Precinct 8 Deputy Honored at 72nd Annual 100 Club of Houston Heroes Awards Banquet Deputy Daniel Lozano was recognized by the 100 Club of Houston yesterday evening as he received an Officer of the Year award for his heroic efforts in saving a woman from a burning vehicle in December of 2025. Deputy Lozano was among a group of dedicated law enforcement officers and fire fighters from across the Houston region to be honored at this event. We are incredibly proud of Deputy Lozano’s dedication to duty and of the selflessness he exhibited in protecting the life of a citizen while risking his own.

On May 15, 2026, at approximately 01:34 AM, K9 Deputy K. Peters conducted a traffic stop at the 17600 block of the Gulf Fwy on a Toyota 4Runner for multiple traffic violations. During the stop, the passenger was identified as 38-year-old Jennifer Shelton. Records showed she had an active warrant with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for Possession of Dangerous Drugs. Precinct 8 Dispatch reached out to the Harris County Warrants Division, which confirmed the warrant. Shelton was subsequently taken into custody. During a search incident to arrest, Shelton was found to be in possession of approximately 4.9 grams of methamphetamine, 1.9 grams of fentanyl, and 0.6 grams of crack cocaine. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted two Felony charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance against Shelton. Shelton was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where she was booked on the confirmed felony warrant and the two new felony charges. Shelton’s bonds have been set at a total of $10,000.

On May 11, 2026, deputies from Harris County Constable’s Precinct 8 were dispatched to a business located in the 18600 block of Eastfield Dr. in reference to a theft in progress. Store management provided a description of the vehicle and photos of the male suspect.

The male suspect was seen passing all points of sale with approximately $345 worth of Wagyu beef brisket and several packs of lamb chops. He carried the meat to the back of the parking lot, waited for a ride, and then abandoned the basket of meat in nearby bushes after noticing management nearby. He subsequently left the scene.

Units located the suspect vehicle, and a traffic stop was conducted. The passenger was identified as 53-year-old Carlos Deangoe Perkins, who was positively identified as the suspect who had walked out with the meat.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted. After presenting the case facts and confirming that Perkins had at least two prior Theft convictions, a felony Theft charge was accepted. Perkins was transported and booked into Harris County Jail. Perkins’ bond was set at $20,000.

On Monday, May 11, 2026, at approximately 09:28 AM, Precinct 8 deputies were dispatched to a motel in the 4700 block of Spencer Hwy regarding a female with an active felony warrant staying in one of the rooms. Prior to arriving on scene, units obtained a recent mugshot of the alleged suspect and confirmed an active warrant for her arrest. Upon arrival, units knocked on the door of the room where she was alleged to be staying and observed a female matching the photo’s description open the window. She was instructed to open the door, which she did. She was detained and identified as 37-year-old Natalie Kuykendall. Kuykendall was placed into custody for the outstanding warrant and requested that we bring some of her belongings from the room.
When deputies entered the room, they encountered a male who identified himself as Jose Chavez. This name did not match the name provided by Kuykendall, and his claimed date of birth did not align with his appearance. Using the provided details, deputies accessed a recent booking photo and identified the individual as 48-year-old Paul Chavez. Chavez was detained, and deputies found narcotics and drug paraphernalia on the nightstand beside the bed. Additional narcotics were discovered in Kuykendall’s bag, which was taken from the room. Moreover, 2.4 grams of Alprazolam and other paraphernalia were recovered from the scene.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance against Kuykendall and Failure to Identify-Fugitive against Chavez to accompany their warrants. Both were transported to JPC without incident. Kuykendall and Chavez each received a $100 bond.

During National Police Week, we remember the men and women in law enforcement who gave their lives protecting others. Today, we honor the memory of Precinct 8 Constable John Monroe Weaver, who gave his life in service to his community nearly a century ago.

Constable Weaver was shot and killed after he and two other lawmen raided a dance hall on Yale Street that was being used as an illegal bootleg establishment. As they approached the building, approximately thirty people fled. The constables were only able to apprehend the owner’s daughter. As she led them to where her uncle was hiding, the constables were ambushed, and Constable Weaver was shot twice, once in the elbow and once in the stomach. He was rushed to the hospital but died from his wounds a half hour later. The suspect initially fled the scene and was later found deceased after taking his own life.

Constable Weaver was the elected constable of Precinct 8 and had only held the post for five months. He was survived by his wife and son.

As we observe National Police Week, we remember Constable Weaver’s courage, dedication, and sacrifice. His service and legacy will not be forgotten. We ask our community to join us in honoring all fallen officers and the families they left behind.

On April 30, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Sgt. Peters with the Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct 8 conducted a proactive patrol in the 250 block of El Dorado Blvd. in Houston.

During the patrol, Sgt. Peters observed suspicious activity at a self-service car wash, where multiple individuals were removing parts from a vehicle. Upon further investigation, the suspect was identified as Robert Solomonsz (DOB: 03/27/1983) and discovered the license plates displayed on the vehicle was not assigned to it.

While conducting the investigation, narcotics were located in plain view inside the vehicle. A subsequent search led to the recovery of approximately 2.2 grams of a Xanax, along with multiple forms of identification and a credit card belonging to other individuals.

Further investigation revealed Solomonsz had two outstanding warrants through the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. It was later confirmed that the recovered identifying information and financial card were unlawfully in his possession, and the victims expressed their intent to pursue charges.

Solomonsz was taken into custody and transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center without incident. Charges accepted in this case include:
• Possession of a Controlled Substance (PG3)
• Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information
• Fraudulent Use/Possession of Credit/Debit Card Information
• Outstanding Warrants (Probation Violation and DWI)

Bond has been denied at this time.

On April 21, 2026, at approximately 3:09 PM, Precinct 8 dispatch received a call for service regarding theft at a business in the 18200 block of the Gulf Freeway. The reportee stated the suspect entered the store wearing dark clothing, a hat, and sunglasses. Loss prevention, monitoring the security cameras, saw the male suspect take several tools and place them in a basket. The suspect then went to the gardening section and exited the store, passing all points of sale. Loss prevention observed the suspect throw the tools into the bed of a black Ford F-150, for which they provided dispatch with the Texas license plate. A wrecker driver nearby saw the vehicle leave the parking lot and followed it. The wrecker driver called dispatch with updates on the suspect’s location. Deputy S. Ali located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the 21400 block of the Gulf Freeway. The driver, and sole occupant, was detained. In plain view in the truck’s bed were the matching stolen tools. The suspect was identified as 31-year-old Kevin Christopher Brown Jr. of La Marque, Texas. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the charge of Theft against Brown. He was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked without incident. Brown’s bond was set at $100.

Reckless DWI Driver Arrested — Zero Tolerance on Our Roads

On April 12th, 2026, at approximately 02:30 am, Precinct 8 Toll Road deputies were dispatched to a reckless driver traveling southbound on the East Sam Houston Tollway over the Ship Channel bridge. Deputies working traffic control in a construction zone observed a silver Ford SUV take the SH-225 off-ramp and collide with a construction barrel in the enclosure. The vehicle reversed in the construction zone and then continued westbound on the SH 225/Pasadena Freeway frontage road, dragging an orange construction barrel beneath it. Sergeant B. Claunch located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near the 100 Block of the Pasadena Freeway.

The driver, identified as 35-year-old Christian Jesus Chavez, showed multiple signs of intoxication. Precinct 8 Deputy C. McLain administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, and it was determined that Chavez could not operate the motor vehicle safely. While completing an inventory of the vehicle, a firearm was located in the center console.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the charges of Driving While Intoxicated and Unlawful Carry of Weapon. Chavez was transported and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center without incident. Chavez’s bond was set at $100.

Quick Action Stops Wrong-Way DWI Driver, Preventing Potential Crash Today, April 15, 2026, at approximately 11:26 AM, Precinct 8 Sergeant J. Toliver was on patrol, traveling northbound in the 2000 block of E Sam Houston Pkwy N, when he observed a white Ford F-350 pulling a trailer with lawncare equipment traveling southbound in the northbound lanes. Sgt. Toliver activated his emergency equipment to attempt to stop the truck. However, the driver used the shoulder to pass the marked patrol vehicle and continued southbound. Nearby, Precinct 3 Sergeant W. Bearden was able to stop the vehicle after the driver attempted to pass him as well. The driver was detained and identified as 33-year-old Pedro Cano Alejos. Alejos displayed multiple signs of intoxication and was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated after an investigation by Precinct 8 Deputy J. Palacios. Two open containers were located inside Alejos’s vehicle.

On April 11, 2026, at approximately 12:45 AM, K9 Deputy K. Peters conducted a traffic stop on a black GMC Yukon for multiple violations. Deputy Peters made contact with the driver, who was identified as 26-year-old Tyler James Brown. While speaking with Brown, Deputy Peters detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. While Brown was detained, he was asked and admitted to having something in his small pocket. Upon removing the contents of the small pocket, Deputy Peters located six small plastic baggies containing a white powdery substance. The substance subsequently tested positive for cocaine and had an approximate weight of 6.0 grams. Deputy Peters deployed K-9 Duke to conduct an open-air sniff of the suspect’s vehicle. After a positive alert to the presence of narcotics, Deputy Peters performed a probable-cause search and recovered one-half of a Xanax bar and marijuana residue. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted, and the Felony charge of Manufacture or Delivery of a Substance, Penalty Group 1, 4g–200g was accepted against Brown. He was placed in custody, transported, and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center. Brown’s bond was set at $3,000.

On April 10, 2026, at approximately 09:32 PM, Deputy C. Crider responded to a report of suspicious activity at a business located at the 19400 block of the Gulf Freeway. Upon arrival, deputies learned that a male suspect had attempted to open a store account to purchase multiple iPhones and accessories using a counterfeit Texas Driver’s License. As Deputy Crider made contact, the suspect fled on foot from the store. A brief pursuit ensued, but the suspect was quickly apprehended. A second suspect, who was associated with the incident and located in a nearby vehicle, was simultaneously detained without incident. During the investigation, deputies recovered approximately nine iPhones and one iPad from the suspects’ vehicle. The suspects were identified as 38-year-old Byron Carr and 38-year-old Tremont Needom. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the Felony charge for Fraudulent Use of Identifying Information on both Carr and Needom. They were transported and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center without incident. Bond was set at $10,000 each for Carr and Needom.

On April 5, 2026, at approximately 7:04 PM, Deputy Cartlidge observed a vehicle with illegal window tint on the driver’s and passenger’s side windows. As Deputy Cartlidge attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed, exited the Gulf Freeway, and made an evasive turn into a nearby commercial parking lot, apparently attempting to avoid law enforcement. Precinct 8 Deputy C. Crider subsequently located the vehicle parked away from the business, with occupants still inside. Deputies made contact with the individuals, and the driver, identified as 42-year-old Michael Allen Bond, was taken into custody for Driving While License Invalid. During a subsequent inventory of the vehicle, deputies recovered approximately 28 grams of methamphetamine and a small quantity of cocaine. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance (4–200 grams) against Bond and the Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance (<1 gram) against the passenger, identified as 26-year-old Millie Nykole Perez-Galindo. Both were transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center without incident. Bond’s bond was set at $20,000, and Perez-Galindo’s bond was set at $2,000.

On April 2, 2026, Deputy Crider initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a lighting violation. During the investigation, Deputy Crider established reasonable suspicion of possible narcotics activity. Officer Barlow and his K9 partner Tyson from the Kemah Police Department were called to the scene to conduct an open air sniff of the vehicle. K9 Tyson positively alerted to the presence of narcotics inside of the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted. During the search, Deputy Crider located 35 grams of Methamphetamine, 1.4 grams of various pills, and marijuana. The search also yielded numerous scales and narcotics packaging consistent with the distribution of narcotics. The passenger, 25 year old Ibrahim Khan admitted possession of the narcotics and was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver.

On April 2, 2026, at approximately 1621 hours, Sgt. M. Self was on routine patrol in the 2900 block of the E. Sam Houston Parkway S service road. Due to construction in the area, the roadway was reduced to one lane. Sgt. Self observed traffic moving slower than usual and multiple vehicles entering the construction area to bypass a vehicle stopped in the open roadway. After making his way through traffic, Sgt. Self positioned his patrol unit behind a Nissan Frontier. Upon approaching the driver’s side of the vehicle, Sgt. Self observed a male driver slouched forward and appearing to be asleep in the driver’s seat. The vehicle’s gearshift was in the “drive” position, and the driver’s foot was on the brake pedal. Sgt. Self opened the driver’s door, placed the vehicle in park, and turned off the engine. The male driver was awakened and safely detained. Sgt. Self requested consent to retrieve the male’s wallet from his pocket so he could be identified, and consent was granted. Upon removing the wallet, two clear plastic baggies containing a white crystal-like substance fell out. The substance was identified as methamphetamine. The male was identified as Collins Steven Tully, 47, of Porter, Texas. During an inventory of the vehicle, additional methamphetamine was located in a clear plastic baggie inside the center console. The combined weight of the methamphetamine was 51.7 grams. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1. Collins was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where he was booked without incident.

On March 28, 2026, at approximately 3:58 PM, Deputy O. Cartlidge and Deputy J. Bailey were dispatched to the 19400 block of the Gulf Fwy in reference to a female using fake IDs to obtain cell phones. Deputies arrived and located the female suspect and two males in a vehicle in the parking lot. Due to the strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and the nature of the charges, all three occupants were detained, and a probable cause search was conducted. Deputies found numerous Texas Driver’s Licenses with the same picture but different identifying information. They also found credit cards and Social Security cards with different names. Along with the fictitious documents, they discovered several cell phones, an iPad, and a small amount of marijuana. The suspects were identified as 26-year-old Diamond Clegg, 34-year-old Deontae Hammond, and 21-year-old Jayden Cunningham.
During the investigation, it was learned that the female had entered the store earlier in the day under a different ID and was denied service. She then visited at least two other store locations, with one allowing her to use the false identity to acquire several phones totaling approximately $6,000.00. This was her second trip to this location that day.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the following charges: Clegg was charged with Felony theft, Altering Government Document with intent to harm, and Fraudulent Possession of another’s identifying information; Hammond was charged with Felony theft; and Cunningham was charged with Possession of marijuana. All three suspects were transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked without incident. Clegg’s bond was set at $45,000 total; Hammond’s bond was set at $20,000; and Cunningham’s bond was set at $100.

On March 23, 2026, at around 6:19 PM, Deputy S. Margison pulled over a vehicle for a moving violation. When Deputy Margison made contact with the driver, identified as 35-year-old Ashley Murray from Crosby, he detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage and noticed she could not sit still and was extremely fidgety. Murray was asked multiple times to exit the vehicle for a driving while intoxicated (DWI) investigation but refused to comply. Deputies then attempted to assist her from the vehicle, at which point she put the car back in drive. Deputy Spray was on scene and entered her vehicle from the passenger side, shifted it into park, and prevented further movement.

Murray was subsequently removed from the vehicle, and an investigation for intoxication was conducted. During the investigation, Murray became uncooperative and combative with deputies. Deputies determined Smith was unable to operate a motor vehicle safely.

Further investigation revealed that Murray had outstanding warrants from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office. Murray was taken into custody for the warrants. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the charge of Driving While Intoxicated 2nd. She was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked without further incident. Murray’s bond was set at $4000.

Precinct 8 night shift deputies handled an unusual situation involving an unsecured cow repeatedly entering a dark roadway, putting drivers at risk.

After a little patience and some teamwork, deputies safely herded the cow back to it’s pasture.

On March 21, 2026, at approximately 3:34 PM, deputies observed a male subject commit a pedestrian violation near the intersection of El Dorado Blvd and Gatebrook Dr. When deputies attempted to make contact with him, the subject fled on foot across El Dorado Blvd and refused to obey commands. After a brief struggle, deputies were able to detain him.

The subject was identified as 43-year-old Patrick Cline and was found to have multiple outstanding felony warrants. After being taken into custody, Cline began acting combatively and exhibited behavior consistent with previous incidents, including faking a medical emergency. EMS responded and transported Cline to a local hospital for medical clearance. After being cleared, he remained combative and required assistance from multiple deputies and Webster Police Department officers. While being transported to the Joint Processing Center, Cline continued to resist and raised safety concerns, causing deputies to stop multiple times to control his behavior.

Upon arriving at the jail, Cline was taken inside and placed into a holding area. He was later booked without further issues. On March 18, 2026, at approximately 5:43 PM, Deputy Crider responded to a call at the 600 block of Barringer Lane in reference to individuals trespassing and possibly selling narcotics on an overgrown back lot of the property. Upon arrival, Deputy Crider made contact with two males on bicycles. During the encounter, one male refused to comply with commands, prompting the deployment of a Taser. As a result, the male was safely detained. The suspect, who was subsequently identified as 45-year-old Timothy Solomon, admitted to possessing narcotics following his detention. A search of his backpack yielded approximately 40 grams of methamphetamine, 0.7 grams of cocaine, and 1.7 grams of THC wax, along with items consistent with narcotics distribution. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the Felony charge of Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Solomon was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked without further incident. No bond has been set at this time.

On March 11, 2026, Deputy Cartlidge conducted a traffic stop in the 11100 block of the Gulf Freeway after observing a vehicle with expired registration and an obscured license plate. During the stop, the driver was identified as 62-year-old Robert Byers. A records check revealed multiple outstanding warrants out of the La Porte Police Department, which were confirmed. Byers was taken into custody without incident.

During a search incident to arrest, Deputy Cartlidge located multiple fictitious Texas driver’s licenses bearing Byers’ photograph but different names. Further investigation confirmed the identities on the licenses belonged to real individuals who stated they did not know Byers and had not given him permission to use their information. Both victims indicated they wished to pursue charges. Deputy Cartlidge also recovered fraudulent checks made out to a local business, along with methamphetamine. Additional narcotics were located inside the vehicle.
Contact was made with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, and the office accepted the Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance as well as Fraudulent Use of Identifying Information. The charge of Forgery was declined. Byers’ bonds were set at a total of $11,000.

Precinct 8 Constables

On March 10, 2026, at approximately 1:58 AM, Precinct 8 deputies found a white Toyota sedan facing the wrong way in the 1000 block of Bay Area Blvd. The vehicle had front-end damage and was disabled. Deputies observed the driver and passenger asleep inside. The driver, identified as 27-year-old Rigoberto Calel Pelico, and the passenger showed multiple signs of intoxication. The Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered to Pelico, and it was determined that he could not operate the motor vehicle safely. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted, and Pelico was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center without incident. The passenger was transported and released to the Houston Recovery Center (Sobering Center). Pelico’s bond was set at $100.

On March 03, 2026, at approximately 01:52 AM, Precinct 8 K9 Deputy K. Peters, conducted a traffic stop in the 11100 block of Fuqua St. on a black Dodge for operating a motor vehicle with the wrong license plate. Deputy Peters made contact with the driver who was identified as 60-year-old Steven Jay Ward.
During the stop, K9 Duke was deployed and positively alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Deputy Peters conducted a probable-cause search of the vehicle and recovered approximately 16.0 grams of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia indicative to the distribution and delivery of narcotics.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the Felony charge of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG1. Ward was placed in custody and transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked without incident. Ward’s bond has been set at $100,000.

On March 5, 2026, at approximately 11:32 PM, Deputy D. Webber, along with K9 Deputy K. Peters, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 11600 block of Fuqua St. for expired registration. The passenger was identified as 27 year-old Alvaro Salas. During the stop, Deputy Peters requested and was granted consent to search Salas’s person and recovered approximately 1 gram of marijuana, approximately 22 grams of Methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia indicative to the distribution and delivery of narcotics.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver. It was also discovered that Salas was out on bond for a previous charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. No bond has been set at this time.

On February 18, 2026, at approximately 12:14 AM, Deputy J. Gibson was patrolling near the 5400 block of Shaver St. when he was stopped by a concerned citizen who reported a male unconscious at a nearby stoplight. Upon arrival, Deputy Gibson observed the male asleep at the wheel. The driver was identified as 24-year-old Ignacio Bautista Barrios. Deputy Gibson administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and determined the driver was unable to operate a vehicle safely. A check of Bautista Barrios’s criminal record revealed a prior DWI conviction. While conducting an inventory of the vehicle, Deputy Gibson observed several open alcoholic beverage containers. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the charge for Driving While Intoxicated 2nd. Bautista Barrios was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where his bond was set at $5,000.

Lieutenant Christopher Yetter of the Harris County Precinct 8 Constable’s Office, recently graduated from the Leadership Command College – Class 103 of the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas.

The program, taught by a consortium of universities throughout Texas, provides law enforcement administrators and executives with the skills necessary to effectively manage police agencies and deliver a high level of service to their communities. Module I, focusing on leadership, is taught at the Center for Executive Development at Texas A&M University. Module II at Texas Woman’s University focuses on the political, legal, and social environment of law enforcement. The program concluded on February 20, 2026, with training in law enforcement administration at the third module, held at Sam Houston State University.

Each of the three 3-week modules attended by participants in the program is taught by top national and international law enforcement experts. Topics include leadership, professional ethics and integrity, communication, and personnel management issues. The Command College curriculum also strives to keep participants on top of contemporary issues in Criminal Justice.

This program is one of many offered by the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas, headquartered on the campus of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. The Institute, known as “LEMIT,” has been training law enforcement managers and executives since its inception in 1987. LEMIT offers numerous seminars, training for police chiefs, and the leadership program, which is one of the premier law enforcement academies in the nation. No tax monies are necessary to support LEMIT, which is funded by a surcharge on criminal court costs, affording eligible Texas Law Enforcement managers and executives essential professional development. Between one and two thousand Texas law enforcement personnel benefit from LEMIT training each year.

Sergeant M. Self and Deputy R. Gonzalez from Precinct 8 had a fantastic time this weekend at Clear Lake City Elementary’s annual carnival. On 02/12/2026 at approximately 08:13 PM, K9 Deputy K. Peters conducted a traffic stop at the 11500 block of the Gulf Fwy on a black Lincoln for a traffic violation. Deputy Peters made contact with the driver, who identified himself as 41-year-old Ricardo Munoz. During the stop, K9 Duke was deployed and positively alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Deputy Peters conducted a probable-cause search of the vehicle and recovered the following:
• 22 grams of crack cocaine
• 16.1 grams of Xanax (Alprazolam)
• 7.0 grams of pressed fentanyl pills
• 16.6 grams of Adderall (Amphetamine)
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted charges of Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Deliver a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 and Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Deliver a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2 against Munoz. He was placed in custody and transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center. While processing, it was found that Munoz had given false information and was positively identified through fingerprints and a Texas Driver’s License as 40-year-old Rocky Ray Munoz. It was also found that Munoz had an active warrant for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 through the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The warrant was confirmed, and he was booked without incident. Munoz’s bonds were set at $100,000 total for two of the cases. Bond has not yet been set in the third case.

On Saturday, February 07, 2026, at approximately 11:00 PM, Precinct 8 K-9 Deputy K. Peters conducted a traffic stop at the 11500 block of Fuqua St. on a black Lincoln for multiple violations. Deputy Peters made contact and identified the driver as 43-year-old Juan Jaime Garza. During the stop, Precinct 8 K-9 Duke was deployed for an open-air sniff of the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed 33.3 grams of methamphetamine and a handgun. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the Felony charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Manufacture or Deliver and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Garza was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked without incident. Garza’s bonds were set at a total of $30, 000.

On January 22, 2026, at approximately 8:31 PM, K9 Deputy K. Peters conducted a traffic stop in the 8800 block of the Gulf Freeway for expired registration on a white Chevrolet Malibu. Deputy Peters made contact with the driver, identified as 41-year-old Wendell Joe Wilson Jr., and the passenger, identified as 29-year-old Adisyn Moore. During the stop, Precinct 8 K9 Duke was deployed for an open-air sniff on the vehicle, and a subsequent search revealed approximately 1 gram of crack cocaine and 3.4 grams of heroin. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance on both Wilson and Moore. They were transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked without incident. Bond was set at $20,000 for Wilson and $5,000 for Moore.

On January 21, 2026, at approximately 12:07 AM, Deputy J. Love and A. Ramirez were dispatched to the 1100 block of El Camino Village Dr. regarding a suspicious male with a backpack in a laundry room on the property. The reportee advised that the male admitted to using the laundry room to smoke marijuana. Deputies made contact with the male, identified as 27-year-old Sammy Bardales. During a probable cause search of Bardales’s backpack, deputies recovered .5 grams of methamphetamine in pill form.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bardales was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked without incident. Bond was set at $1,000.

On January 17th, 2026, at approximately 04:24 PM, Sergeant M. Self was on patrol in the 5900 block of the E Sam Houston Pkwy S service road when he observed a gray BMW exiting the main lanes of the E Sam Houston Hwy S and nearly colliding with the driver’s side of Sgt. Self’s fully marked police vehicle. The BMW continued past Sgt. Self’s police vehicle swerved into the adjacent lane and nearly collided with another vehicle. Sgt. Self initiated a traffic stop by activating his emergency lights and sirens. The vehicle failed to stop, and a short pursuit ensued. The vehicle eventually came to a stop, and the driver, identified as 41-year-old Miranda Rae Carroll, was detained.

While speaking to Carroll, deputies observed multiple signs of intoxication. After completing the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, it was determined that Carroll was unable to operate a motor vehicle safely. An Intoxilyzer test was administered, and the results revealed Caroll’s alcohol concentration was over the legal limit.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted charges for Driving While Intoxicated. Carroll was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing and booked in without incident. Bond was set at $100.

On January 15, 2026, at approximately 11:29 PM, Deputy A. Ramirez conducted a traffic stop at the 1000 block of the Gulf Fwy on a black Nissan for expired registration. Deputy Ramirez made contact and identified the driver as 55-year-old Willie Anderson. During the encounter, Deputy Ramirez requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle and recovered approximately .44 grams of crack cocaine.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. It was also discovered that Anderson is currently out on bond for a previous charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bond has been set at $10,000.

Precinct 8 Constables

On January 7, 2025, at approximately 08:40 PM, Deputy Crider was on patrol in the 1000 block of Bay Area Boulevard when he observed a two-vehicle collision. As Deputy Crider approached the scene, he observed a male, later identified as 32-year-old Isaias Dionel Coxaj Suque, the driver of one of the vehicles, walking toward the vehicle in an attempt to retrieve his cell phone. Upon seeing Deputy Crider arrive, he fled the scene on foot. Deputy Crider pursued and subsequently detained Suque. The passenger, later identified as 36-year-old Sebastian Quino, who had already fled the scene, was found behind a nearby building after witnesses pointed him out. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the charges of Driving While Intoxicated and Evading Arrest or Detention on Foot against Suque. The District Attorney’s Office declined to accept the charge of Failure to Stop and Give Information (FSGI). The passenger was arrested on an Instanter charge of Public Intoxication. Suque and Quino were transported and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center without incident. Suque’s bonds were set at a total of $200.

On 01/12/2026 at approximately 12:56 AM, K-9 Deputy K. Peters conducted a traffic stop at the 11100 block of the Gulf Fwy on a white Lexus for multiple violations. Deputy Peters made contact with the driver, later identified as 61-year-old Kelvin Menefee. During the stop, Precinct 8 K9 Duke was deployed for an open-air sniff on the vehicle, and a subsequent search revealed a bag containing approximately 5.2 grams of crack cocaine, as well as a crack pipe. A further probable cause search of the vehicle yielded multiple small plastic bags.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Manufacture or Deliver. Menefee was placed into custody and transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where he was booked without incident. Bond been set at $80,000.

Precinct 8 Constables

On January 4th, 2026, at approximately 04:00 AM, K9 Deputy K. Peters initiated a traffic stop on a blue Mercedes near the Gulf Fwy and Fuqua for multiple traffic violations. The driver was identified as 22-year-old Kshon Andrew Mack. Mack was placed in custody for DWI. An AR pistol was observed in plain view in the back seat. Upon completing an inventory of the vehicle, Deputy Peters located marijuana, small plastic baggies, a handgun, and $2,307.00 in US currency. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted, and the following charges were accepted: Driving While Intoxicated, Unlawful Carry of a Weapon, and Possession of Marijuana. The US currency was seized through the Harris County District Attorney’s Office Asset Forfeiture. Mack had bond conditions in Harris and Galveston counties that he was in violation of. Mack was transported and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center. Bonds were set totaling $12,500.

January 2, 2026, at approximately 04:17 PM, Deputy C. Crider conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet Malibu for traffic violations. Deputy Crider made contact and identified the driver as 25-year-old Alejandro Manuel Garcia of Pasadena. Deputy Crider requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle and located a black backpack on the front passenger floorboard containing Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Marijuana, Xanax, and a loaded handgun. Due to the findings, the passenger of the vehicle was subsequently identified as 29-year-old Geraldo Delarosa of Houston. Delarosa was fingerprinted at the scene because he had no physical identification on his person. Upon the return of Delarosa’s fingerprints, it showed Delarosa had given a false date of birth. During a further search of the vehicle, a green bag was located. In its contents, deputies located Marijuana, Xanax, and Adderall. After the findings, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted, and the following charges were accepted: Delarosa was charged with 3 Felony counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance; Garcia was charged with 2 Felony counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Both Garcia and Delarosa were transported and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center without incident. Garicia’s bond was set at $7,500, and Delarosa’s bond was set at a total of $80,000.

On December 31, 2025, at approximately 11:17 PM, Deputy H. Atluri conducted a traffic stop at the 2200 block of E Sam Houston Twy N, on a white Chevrolet Silverado for multiple traffic violations. Deputy Atluri made contact with the driver, who displayed multiple signs of intoxication.

The driver was identified as 40-year-old Eliseo Soza. Deputy Atluri administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and determined the driver was unable to operate a motor vehicle safely. A check of his criminal record revealed four prior DWI convictions.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the Felony charge of Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More. Soza was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked without incident. Soza’s bond was set at $15,000.

Precinct 8 Constables

On December 24, 2025, at approximately 06:52 PM, Deputies A. Bullock and E. Conrad were investigating an unrelated call for service at the 19200 block of the Gulf Freeway. While on scene, business management notified deputies that two male subjects were concealing electronic merchandise inside a baby stroller and underneath their clothing. Management monitored the suspects via security cameras and relayed their locations and actions to deputies. Several Precinct 8 units established a perimeter around the main entrance and detained both suspects after they exited the business and passed all points of sale. One suspect was identified as 42 year-old Joseph Register from Tennessee. The second suspect was identified as a 16 year-old juvenile. A search of the baby stroller Register was pushing revealed no child inside; however, deputies located two virtual reality headsets, and one Nintendo Switch concealed within it. The juvenile was found to be concealing one virtual reality headset underneath his jacket.

Management further informed deputies that the same two individuals were responsible for a prior theft at the same location earlier that evening. During the investigation, the vehicle used to drop off the suspects was located at a nearby closed restaurant. The vehicle was occupied by a female identified as 36 year-old Ashton Edwards from Tennessee. Edwards confirmed that Register is her significant other and that the juvenile is her son. Deputies observed in plain view a PlayStation 5 and an Xbox Controller behind the driver’s seat, which matched the merchandise from the first theft.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the following charges: Edwards was charged with Felony Theft; due to previous theft convictions, the juvenile was charged with Class A Misdemeanor Theft, and Register was charged with Felony Theft; due to previous theft convictions. Edwards and Register were transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked without incident. The juvenile was fingerprinted and released to a family member. Register’s bond was set at $7,500.00 and Edwards’ bond was set at $1,000.00

On December 19, 2025, at approximately 1:17 AM, Deputy D. Lozano was enroute to assist another Precinct 8 deputy on a traffic stop when he observed a vehicle that had just crashed and overturned onto its passenger side in the middle of IH-45 under the Scarsdale Boulevard overpass. The vehicle was on fire, and the flames were rapidly intensifying. As Deputy Lozano approached the vehicle, he looked through the windshield and observed a female occupant inside yelling for help. All windows were intact, and the vehicle was filling with smoke. Flames were present inside the vehicle, with the dashboard on fire, as well as fire underneath the vehicle and under the hood near the windshield. The female yelled for help again, and Deputy Lozano instructed her to get down while he used his ASP baton to break the driver’s-side window, which was facing upward because the vehicle was resting on its passenger-side doors. Once the window was broken, smoke and flames intensified inside the vehicle. Deputy Lozano then instructed the female to place her arms around his neck, and he lifted her out through the driver’s side window. The driver was transported from the scene by HFD for medical treatment, having received burns to her body. Deputy Lozano’s actions undoubtedly saved the young woman’s life and we are incredibly proud of his heroic efforts.

On December 17, 2025, at approximately 3:14 p.m., Deputy Mclain with the Harris County Precinct 8 Constable’s Office observed a tan GMC Sierra stopped partially in the entrance of a gas station and partially in the roadway at the 5400 block of the E. Sam Houston Parkway S service road, creating a traffic hazard. Deputy Mclain made contact with the driver, later identified as 35 year-old Noe Cardona Figueroa of Honduras, who stated the vehicle was experiencing mechanical issues and would not move.

While Deputy Mclain was on scene, an off-duty peace officer approached and advised that he had stopped to assist the driver. He reported observing blood on the driver’s hands and what appeared to be a deceased puppy on the floorboard of the truck. The off-duty officer advised Mclain that he disengaged and contacted 911 after the driver became verbally belligerent. He further stated that during this time, the driver was observed exiting the vehicle and entering the gas station. When he returned, his hands appeared clean.

Deputy Mclain instructed the driver to exit the vehicle for further investigation; however, he refused to comply and began behaving aggressively, including yelling and striking his chest with his fists. While standing in the open driver’s door, the suspect placed his right hand on a sheath attached to his belt containing a pocketknife. Deputy Mclain issued verbal commands for him to stop reaching for the knife, which he eventually did. Figueroa continued to refuse commands and physically resisted when Deputy Mclain attempted to detain him. With the assistance of the off-duty officer and another witness, Deputy Mclain was able to restrain and handcuff Figueroa safely.

A subsequent search of the vehicle confirmed a deceased puppy, believed to be only a few months old, lying on the front floorboard. Deputies observed fresh blood and bloodstains inside the vehicle. The puppy’s body showed signs of trauma with deep lacerations to the head and facial area. After investigation, it was determined Figueroa was responsible for the trauma leading to the puppy’s death.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted charges of Resisting Arrest/Detention and Felony Cruelty to Non-Livestock Animal. Figueroa was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked without further incident. Additional charges remain pending. Bond has been set at $15,000.

Precinct 8 Constables

Our agency is conducting an investigation into a fatal auto-pedestrian collision that occurred on State Highway 146 northbound near Port Road at around 1:30 AM this morning.

Preliminary information indicates that an adult white male, in his twenties, entered the main lanes of SH 146 on foot and was struck and killed in the collision involving an on-duty Baytown Police officer in a marked unit. The Baytown Police officer was not injured.

Officials with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division arrived as members of the Precint 8 Crash Team processed the scene. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.

No additional details are available at this time.

Recently, Precinct 8 Deputy K. Peters and Deputy A. Rabago, along with their K9 partners Duke and Max, attended a comprehensive MAN-tracking seminar hosted by Alpha Search and Recovery. The training focused on enhancing skills for locating missing persons in both urban and rural environments. This seminar equipped our team with valuable tools to respond swiftly and effectively when someone goes missing. Duke and Max were an incredible asset throughout the course, showcasing the vital role K9s play in search efforts. 🐕‍🦺

This evening, Precinct 8 Toll Road deputies were dispatched to the main lanes at E. Sam Houston Pkwy S. and Fairmont Pkwy for reports of a kitten on the shoulder. Upon arrival, the kitten quickly sought safety by jumping into the engine bay of Sergeant Self’s patrol unit. With the assistance from Deputy Ahmed and Deputy Mclain, Sergeant Self was able to safely extract the little traveler and transport it to a local animal shelter for care.

On 11/20/25, the Precinct 8 Street Crimes Unit, along with Harris County Constable Precinct 2 Special Operations, conducted surveillance and obtained search warrants as part of a long-term narcotics investigation in the 10600 block of Kirkdale Dr. in Houston. During the execution of the warrant, two of the subjects attempted to evade but were quickly apprehended without incident.

One female was arrested for open warrants issued by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Another Female was arrested due to an outstanding parole warrant. One male was apprehended for outstanding Felony Family Violence warrants out of Brazoria County, while another male was arrested and charged with the manufacturing or delivery of narcotics. Three stolen vehicles were recovered, which included one car and two motorcycles. Additionally, two tunnels were discovered underneath the house, which were believed to be used to hide people and narcotics. One female was found hiding in the tunnel area at the time the search warrant was executed.

In total, four individuals were arrested, and three stolen vehicles were recovered. The search warrant yielded 79.9 grams of methamphetamine, 0.5 grams of cocaine, and three firearms. Additionally, charges are pending for utility theft at this location.

On November 29, 2025, at approximately 4:30 PM, Deputy Cartlidge and Deputy Cook initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired motor vehicle registration at the Gulf Freeway and Edgebrook Drive. The vehicle stopped briefly, then accelerated and entered back into traffic, evading the Deputies. After approximately two miles the vehicle came to a stop and the driver, identified as 23-year-old Daylin Reshawn Sanford, was safely placed in custody.

During a search incident to arrest, Sanford was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted a Felony charge for Evading Arrest/Detention in a Vehicle, but declined charges for Unlawful Carry of a Firearm. Sanford was transported and booked into the Harris County Wallisville Jail without incident. Bond is set at $5000.

Recently, members of Precinct 8’s Crash Reconstruction Team were out utilizing drone technology to map out a major crash scene. By capturing precise aerial imagery, drones allow investigators to document and measure every detail quickly and accurately, all while minimizing road closures and improving safety for motorists and investigators. This advanced technology helps ensure that every serious crash is analyzed thoroughly and efficiently, giving us tools to better understand what happened and improve roadway safety for everyone.

On 11/6/2025 at approximately 12:18 AM, Precinct 8 Sergeant B. Covey observed a white Ford F150 and a black Acura 4-door sedan racing near S. Shaver St. and Galveston Road. Upon catching up with both vehicles, he observed the black Acura sedan and the white Ford F-150 both run a red light at the intersection of Almeda Genoa Road and Rowlett Rd. Precinct 8 Deputy D. Lozano arrived and initiated a traffic stop on the Black Acura and Sergeant Covey attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the white Ford F-150, which failed to stop, and a pursuit ensued. After approximately a 4 to 5-mile pursuit, the F150 turned into a cul-de-sac of a neighborhood and the male driver bailed out of the vehicle on foot. A brief foot pursuit ensued, and Sergeant Covey deployed his department-issued Taser, effectively subduing the male and bringing the chase to a successful conclusion. The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Odilon Ramos-Perez, was taken into custody without further incident. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the charge for Felony Evading in a Motor Vehicle. Ramos-Perez was transported and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center and bond was set at $5000.

On November 4, 2025, at approximately 12:30 AM, Sergeant B. Covey conducted a traffic stop in the 12400 block of Galveston Road on a GMC Yukon for expired motor vehicle registration. Sergeant Covey made contact with and identified the driver as 70 year-old Neil Hopkins. Sergeant Covey conducted a probable cause-based search of Hopkins’ person and the vehicle and located approximately 4.5 grams of Methamphetamine.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Hopkins was transported and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center. His bond was set at $2,500.

On November 1, 2025, at approximately 10:30 AM, Deputy H. Tamez conducted a traffic stop in the 3500 block of Shaver on a black Toyota Camry with illegal window tint. Deputy Tamez made contact with and identified the driver as 25 year-old Dante Alvarez-San Filippo. While speaking with Alvarez-San Filippo, Deputy Tamez detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted, and deputies located approximately 5.9 ounces of marijuana along with $4370.00 in US Currency. Deputy Rabago and K9 Max arrived to assist in the investigation and K9 Max positively alerted on the contraband. The District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the charge for Felony Possession of Marijuana, and the Asset Forfeiture division was contacted and accepted the seizure of the U.S. currency. San-Filippo was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked without incident. Bond was set at $1500.

On October 24th, 2025, at approximately 07:52 PM, Precinct 8 Deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle crash in the 5900 block of the E Sam Houston Pkwy S. Upon arriving on scene deputies observed a red Chevrolet Equinox with heavy front-end damage. Witnesses informed deputies that the vehicle was observed failing to maintain a single lane of traffic prior to leaving the roadway and entering the median. Once the vehicle entered the median, it struck a highway sign and then struck a concrete barrier wall causing significant damage to the front of the vehicle.
The driver, identified as 30-year-old Karen Paola Hernandez of Friendswood, displayed multiple signs of intoxication. After conducting the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, deputies determined she was unable to operate a motor vehicle safely. Deputies also located an open container in the vehicle. Hernandez was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where an intoxilyzer test was administered. The results revealed Hernandez’s alcohol concentration was over the legal limit.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the charge of Driving While Intoxicated BAC >=.15. Hernandez was booked without incident, and her bond was set at $100.

On October 31, 2025, at approximately 03:09 AM, Precinct 8 K9 Deputy K. Peters initiated a traffic stop at the 9000 block of the Gulf Fwy on a black Ford Explorer for multiple violations. Upon making contact with the driver, he was identified as 63 year-old Johnny Lee Manuel. Manuel was found to have an active felony warrant issued by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for Possession of a Controlled Substance. The warrant was confirmed, and Manuel was placed in custody. Deputy Peters searched Manuel’s person incident to arrest and recovered approximately 4.43 grams of crack cocaine. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance (PG1 4G–200G). Manuel was transported and booked at the Harris County Joint Processing Center without incident. Bond has been set at $30,000.
