A public informational meeting will be held by Pasadena Independent School District on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, to seek public comments on the needs and use of federal funds within Title I, II, III and IV.
The purpose of the meeting is to seek input on how the district can use funds to provide supplemental services and support to students, families, teachers, administrators, and other district staff.
Meetings are scheduled at 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the Pasadena ISD – Carmen Orozco Professional Development Complex, 1832 E. Sam Houston Pkwy S., Room #101A, Pasadena TX 77503.

Pasadena ISD congratulates Ashley Miller for being awarded the Gulf Coast Educators Federal Credit Union 2023 Appreciated Teacher of the Year Award along with the $2,500 grand prize!
The Appreciated Teacher of
the Year Award was created by Gulf Coast Educators Federal Credit Union to recognize outstanding educators within their field of membership, which now includes all districts and accredited schools in Texas. The Appreciated Teacher of the Year Award is given annually to one teacher who demonstrates exemplary dedication to their students and their profession. The remaining finalists receive a $500 honorarium.“The students at Red Bluff Elementary are truly one of a kind. Knowing that I can make a difference in my students’ lives and other lives is the best reward I can receive as an educator,” said Miller.

Culinary students at South Houston High School received a world class presentation from the Good Eating Company. Students got to hear from senior Vice President Don King who shared the leadership side of culinary where he expressed the simplicity of their business model: Good Company, Good Food, Good Stewards. He expressed that to make it far in the industry you need to find mentors and be mentor able
The Senior Director of marketing Leneia Weston, chimed in from Utah from the site of a new restaurant to discuss the concept of opening a restaurant, and what is done to give the customer a unique experience.
Senior Culinary Director Melody Miranda shared about the thought process that goes into place the moment you walk into a kitchen. Understanding the equipment available and planning a sellable menu with the tools and space available.
Two other Executive Chefs also zoomed in to share their experience on how they became chefs and how their journey didn’t necessarily start out in the industry but their passion led them to culinary.

Rick Schneider Middle School (PISD) has been recognized as one of the Top 10 ESL Schools of the Year in Texas for the Writing Domain, placing 9th out of over 4,000 schools using the Summit K12 program.
Winners represent the top performers in accelerating learning for Emergent Bilingual students. We would like to congratulate the Summit K12 Reading Intervention program teacher, Mr. Mickey Moffett, and his students, who are behind this incredible achievement.
