Pasadena we don’t have a problem but your cooperation is essential in navigating this hot summer safely.

🚨ATTENTION RESIDENTS 🚨
💧Our water system, like most others in the state, is being taxed because of the current drought conditions.
While Pasadena is NOT experiencing a current shortage of water, we are asking fo your help in conservation to avoid low pressure, which is generally the enemy in drought situations. Following these steps will help conserve water:
1) Avoid watering your lawn in mid-day.
2) Check for leaks in your sprinkler system.
3) Avoid washing your car at home until conditions improve.
4) Immediately report waterline breaks to the Mayor’s Action Line at (713) 475-5555.
Go to www.takecareoftexas.org for more helpful tips.

DPPD: Prepare for hurricane season and get your emergency kit ready.

The peak of hurricane season is almost here. Is your emergency kit ready?

Residents are strongly encouraged to maintain a 72 hour emergency supply of water, non-perishable food, and medicine for each member of their household, including pets. Reserves should be built in advance of an emergency to ensure supplies are available – stores may run out of resources in the days leading up to a major weather event or other emergency.

Sufficient resources may not be immediately available to assist everyone negatively impacted by a disaster. Self-sufficiency for a minimum of 3 days is a consistent recommendation from all levels of government, with encouragement to store resources for longer periods. A 72 hour supply will assist your household with bridging the supply gap between the time a disaster occurs and the time additional resources arrive.

Visit www.ready.gov/kit for more information about emergency supplies that should be kept on hand.

Precinct 8’s Deputy Morgan had to go on a high-speed chase that lead to an arrest of a 🤡 with narcotics worth thousands of dollars.

MAN FOUND IN POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS FOLLOWING PURSUIT On Sunday, July 30, 2023 at approximately 2:34 AM, Precinct 8 Deputy Morgan with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office was conducting narcotic interdiction in the 10000 block of Bessemer St when he observed a white GMC pickup traveling at high rate of speed. Deputy Morgan activated his emergency equipment in attempt to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle ultimately came to a stop in the 8300 block of Delwin St. The driver was apprehended and identified as 29 year old Francisco Javier Moreno. Deputy Morgan conducted a search and located 17 grams of Xanax, 2 ounces of marijuana, multiple THC cartridges and edibles, and individually packaged bags containing a total of 21 grams of cocaine. A further search of the vehicle yielded drug paraphernalia consistent with narcotic distribution. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted felony charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver and Evading Arrest/Detention with Vehicle. Moreno was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where his bonds were set at $25,000 for the narcotic charge and $10,000 for evading.

Desperate times for the Pasadena Animal Shelter they could use your immediate support to save animal’s lives.

Our shelter is critically full and WE URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP! 🐾

Due to the January tornado, the Pasadena Animal Shelter is operating on 15% of the space we once had. The building we are in is smaller than most of the surrounding city shelters when Pasadena’s population is considerably larger. When the space was taken away, the need did not go away. The building we are currently using has 45 built-in kennels for cats & dogs, however, just last week, we took in 149 cats and 88 dogs.

We are working very hard to save as many as we can, but the limited space has also limited our operations. But together, we can change that!

By adopting or fostering a pet, you become a hero in their lives and make a significant difference to our shelter. You provide a pet with a warm bed, a loving home, and a chance at a brighter future. It also allows our shelter to free up space, giving us the opportunity to rescue even more animals from difficult situations.

Whether you’re looking for a loyal companion or simply want to make a difference, now is the perfect time to open your heart and home to a pet.

• Want to foster? Use this link: https://www.pasadenatx.gov/536/Volunteering-Fostering
• Want to adopt? Use this link: https://www.pasadenatx.gov/FormCenter/Animal-Adoption-and-Foster-Applications-10

Remember, ALL of our adoption fees are waived in August for the #ClearTheShelters campaign! All animals will come with at least one set of vaccines, spay/neuter, and a microchip.

Help us spread the word and find these paw-some animals their perfect match! Visit the shelter, share this post, tag your friends, and let’s continue to create a powerful community of animal lovers who want to save lives. 🐱🐶
