Rescue, foster, or give a forever home. These scared shelter dogs are desperate for love and a second chance.

We are good dogs. We would make the bestest friend and would show so much love, loyalty, and companionship. But we are still at the shelter scared. We’re surrounded by unfamiliar faces and strange noises, leaving us to feel alone and sad. The shelter has done its best to care for us, but the aftermath of the tornado has taken its toll. Space is scarce, and our hopes of finding a home dwindles each day. Only one of you can restore our hope by rescuing, fostering, or giving us the forever home, we ache for 💔.

🔥👨‍🚒👩‍🚒 Celebrating Our Heroes: Volunteer Firefighters’ Grit and Dedication! 🔥👏 Hello, wonderful community! 🌟 We want to take a moment to give a heartfelt shoutout to our incredible volunteer firefighters who exhibited unparalleled determination during the challenging business fire that occurred on August 13th, 2023. 🚒💪 #CommunityHeroes #VolunteerFirefighters 🌦️ On that fateful day, the scorching heat and gusty winds tried to stand in their way, but our fearless firefighters stood tall, battling the blaze with unwavering bravery. 🌬️☀️ Their efforts, sweat, and sacrifices did not go unnoticed as they worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of our community and its businesses. 🏢👏 🔥 This incident truly highlighted the spirit of unity and strength that defines our fire department. It’s the dedication of individuals like our volunteers that make our community a safer and better place. 🙌❤️ 🚁 The Role of Drones in Modern Firefighting: 🚁 📡 On that day, we were reminded of the invaluable role technology plays in firefighting. Our department’s utilization of drones was a game-changer, providing real-time aerial views and critical information to our firefighters on the ground. 🛰️🔍 Drones not only enhance our situational awareness but also help us make informed decisions that keep everyone safer. 🌐 Looking forward, we recognize the increasing importance of integrating drones into our firefighting arsenal. These devices allow us to assess dangerous situations, map out strategies, and ensure the safety of our firefighters and the community at large. 🌐💡 Let’s applaud our volunteer firefighters once again for their selflessness and unwavering commitment. We are so proud to have them as the backbone of our community’s safety! 👏👨‍🚒👩‍🚒 #VolunteerFirefighting #CommunityUnity Stay tuned for more updates on how we’re continuously improving our techniques and technology to better serve and protect you all. Precinct 8 Deputies show up for some area back-to-school events to emphasize safety for a successful school year.

All schools in our area are back in session! Precinct 8 deputies participated in several back-to-school events this August. Deputies attended the Precinct2gether Back to School Bash, H-E-B Kids Fun Day, BakerRipley Pasadena Campus Health Fair Day and The Grand Hampton at Clear Lake Apartments school supplies giveaway. Deputies had a great time at all these fun events handing out school supplies and providing back to school safety tips! We want to remind parents that teaching your children how to stay safe before, during and after school is crucial. Parents should make sure their children know their phone number, address and how to get in touch with them or another trusted adult in case of an emergency. Traffic safety is also key to keeping children safe. Motorists are reminded there are heavy fines for going over the speed limit and for texting and using handheld devices while driving through a school zone. State law mandates that drivers come to a complete stop when approaching a school bus that is stopped to pick up or drop off students. Children walking or riding their bikes should only cross the street at corners, using traffic signals and crosswalks. We hope everyone has a safe and successful school year!

Wanted felon escapes on foot, but Deputy Burden doesn’t hold back and catches the 🤡. There’s no way Rolando Soto-Razo can escape now with a $200 bail.

Deputy Burden made contact with the driver who provided false identifying information. Through further investigation, Deputy Burden was able to positively identify the driver as 32 year old Rolando Soto-Razo. A check of Soto’s information revealed two open felony warrants through Harris County Sheriff’s Office for Retaliation and Aggravated Assault of Family Member. As Deputy Burden attempted to place Soto in custody, he began to flee on foot. Deputy Burden deployed his Taser and gained control of Soto. He was placed in custody and escorted back to the patrol vehicle where he continued to resist. Deputy Burden conducted a search incident to arrest and recovered a handgun from Soto’s backpack. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted additional charges for Evading Arrest/Detention and Fail to ID to Peace Officer. Soto was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where his bonds were set at $200 total.

Today marks the 14th year anniversary of the tragic death of Officer Jesse Hamilton who was killed in the line of duty on August 21, 2009. Officer Hamilton was an amazing person who loved serving our community.

He was shot after responding to a domestic disturbance call and his sacrifice will not be forgotten. Every year since his tragic death, we have gathered in front of the station to honor his memory. May his sacrifice not be in vain and may we continue to pray for all of those who protect and serve our communities.

Pasadena we don’t have a problem but your cooperation is essential in navigating this hot summer safely.

🚨ATTENTION RESIDENTS 🚨
💧Our water system, like most others in the state, is being taxed because of the current drought conditions.
While Pasadena is NOT experiencing a current shortage of water, we are asking fo your help in conservation to avoid low pressure, which is generally the enemy in drought situations. Following these steps will help conserve water:
1) Avoid watering your lawn in mid-day.
2) Check for leaks in your sprinkler system.
3) Avoid washing your car at home until conditions improve.
4) Immediately report waterline breaks to the Mayor’s Action Line at (713) 475-5555.
Go to www.takecareoftexas.org for more helpful tips.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us get through this hot summer safely.
